Hi everyone - my name is barrett and I'm fairly new to the game. LOT to love about it though - think this was the space game I've been dreaming of since I was playing my c64... So a few questions after I've been playing for a bit, in no particular order: 1. what are some good strategies for dealing with pirates? Do you have to have pirates on all the maps that come with the game (except the random no pirates ones)? 2. how do artifacts work? I've searched a
Is there a way to turn off the pirate mechanic on any map you play? I'm torn; it's a way to make sure you have a lot of cool-a$$ space battles, but it's also an endless annoyance that I don't know how to deal with effectively yet
I'm a newbie too - so should be able to give you a bit of advice. First, I'm going to turn off pirates for a bit, and put the enemy on Easy mode. Watch your empire menu on the left of the screen carefully, your planet will flash reddish whenever an enemy has engaged, and I think there is some sort of audio queue as well. I'm LOVING the tech trees, much because of the cool differences in fleets and techs between the races. Turn on most of the visual indicators from the user interface options
