Today ObjectBar seems to be working correctly. It looks as though my installing WindowBlinds 6.00[b].099 over the top of a previous version has fixed my problems in ObjectBar. Even though I do not actually run WindowBlinds (I only have it installed so that I could install SkinStudio 6 Professional 5.92[b].010 to use to set up things for my ObjectBar skin. Time will tell though, as I have only rebooted once since installing the new WindowBlinds.

One more bug has turned up in this beta. For the last few days, when I start my PC my ObjectBar "ControlCenter" lookalike opens, but is not drawn properly. The beige background colour I copied from the real ControlCenter is not being filled in. If I do something that causes it to be redrawn, such as go to the Theme Editor/Skin tab and select an alternate text color and then turn that option off again, the background is then drawn correctly until the next reboot. I do not believe this problem

And the next day, when I started my PC, all the problems were back again: no ObjectBar icon in the system tray, and the virtual desktops in ObjectBar not showing any replicas for new things until I use "Retrieve all windows" or "Recover lost windows". Interestingly, if I increase the size of the virtual desktops in the taskbar so that I can see replicas, and use them to change desktops, I do see the replicas there. But if I open something new, and use the virtual desktops in ObjectBar

OK, I uninstalled Objectbar and Stardock Virtual Desktops and reinstalled them both (virtual desktops first), and so far the problems seem to have gone away. Time will tell, and problems may come back after I reboot, as everything worked properly the first time I installed this Objectbar beta, with problems starting the next day after a reboot.

It looks as though whatever is going on with the replicas not showing up is complicated. I unloaded Objectbar and started ControlCenter, and it is now suffering from the same problem! It was fine a few days ago when I installed the previous beta of Objectbar, but I have not used it since then. Any ideas on how to fix this? It is really making it difficult to use the virtual desktops.

Yesterday I updated from the previous beta of Objectbar to 2.10g[b].013. And now, when I open a new program, its window does not become visible as a replica in the virtual desktops I have in Objectbar. When I change to the desktop, the window is there, but it is just not showing as a replica in Objectbar. The replicas do show up after using the "Retrieve All Windows" or "Recover Lost Windows" commands. This used to work correctly in the previous beta. Also, I have

I would just like to add to Daiwa's comments about the OB2 installer requiring XP. I also use Win2k, and I find that this inability to install OB2 is very annoying, especially as the new Control Center beta installs and works fine on Win2k. Like Daiwa, I am not ever intending to update to XP, and will likely keep it on this PC as long as the PC keeps working. If OB2 is not ever going to be capable of installing on Win2k, then Stardock
