How do I make sure DeskScapes is turned off when I'm tabbed into games?

Whenever I have deskscapes installed it feels like I'm losing FPS in counter-strike, how do I make sure my animated wallpaper is disabled while I'm tabbed in but automatically turns on when I tab back out? Does it do this automatically and I'm being paranoid?
