you video driver is out of date.... sound crashing the game? anyones guess. I've had a major problem, like this, to the point to where i can't play the game anymore. any game for that matter. it just restarts my system after about 20 minutes of playing. I'd say open your computer and blast the shit out of it. Probably dusty.

This CTD was so good, it didn't create anything on smart exception. But as you will see it doesn't matter, and i'm still left clueless. The colors and wacky lines and images on my monitor were definately worth it. Also, a note on the latest beta, after you research good & evil, no prompt to choose alignment shows up. Wow. Maybe they should have spent more time proofing the grammar, instead of making a better game for us. Personally that is more important to me. It would be great to see the A.I. still going around in huge ship designs without engines. Or even, no throttling option. That's just me though....

I've seen this as well. It seems they can build multiples of whatever on land not yet available. I had a planet flip to my side and they had 3 starports building on it. I deleted 2 of them and saw they were being built on tiles unavailable til habitat impovement or something.

i've done the throttling. I also have mega-cooling going on cause i do a lot of video on this computer as well. I'll test the fan directly on the video card tho...

I am baffled cause i have tried everything from deleting all video driver, reinstalling, reinstalling galciv, tweaking hardware acceleration, and a host of things i've read on the net. Never had this problem with a game before. Usually computer will restart apx 20 minutes into any game, I've only manually saved 4 times since starting playing. Game was running fine for about 2 days now. No serious problems. After an event, started getting a black screen except for a box around the mouse where i could see everything as normal. Try saving a game only being able to see about a 1/2 in square around the mouse. I had the very same problem. After the reboot windows said it recovered from a very serious error, and when i reported the error message, the info on it said to try decreasing hardware acceleration. Have been doing that for about a week now, and i don't get nearly as many reboots. It still happens every once and a while tho. It makes the pointer look weird too.
