By coincidence I started to discuss this from an (almost) opposite point of view last night in this thread http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=75057#75276 I think there is a lot still to achieve in all strategy games that have a developing technology at their heart. "The tech tree is missing btw. In game, I have *no* idea what is leading where, again, take a look at Civ3 please." I am of the opposite opinion. The ideal tech tree should always be hazy right ahead and completely unknowable further in the future. This is a significant flaw in Civ3 because it conflicts with the raison d'etre for the game.
