First of all to ally with some one. A good idea is to declare war on a civilization that the civilizations is at war with example: I declared war on the Yor Collective becaus the Arcean Empire was at war with them too. Then give them like 1,000 bc and 3 techs they don't have The last and most important thing you need to research these: Phasers, Instant Communication, Alliances. I had a hilarous game of Galciv.... I researched Battleship tech real quick so at the beganning knowone would mess with me. Then I was nice to the most powerful races ( The Yor Collective, and the Torians) So they did not declare war on me. The funny thing was tha t the Minor Races were more powerful then the major they had better military. I did not this and attacked the Carinoids and well now Earth is control by Caranoids. The moral of the story. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE MINOR
