I took 25% luck on my last game and got a ranger for three turns, although it was fairly late in the game. As far as starting position, I don't think it helped a bit.
Honestly, I no longer build trade starbases. I tend to add a trade module to starbases doing other things, but I never build a SB primarily for trade.

I think the Empire of Light's cloning operation is fairly small scale and nothing to worry about. I'll see if vincible can conjure up a "Detect Magic" spell, as everyone knows cloning is nothing more than poor magic. If these dopplegangers are among us, they will soon be found and destroyed. I, too, predict that Terl's past will haunt the Empire of Light and will taint their search for the Light. ;)

Hey gang. I was called out of town on business yesterday, so I'm just returning. I managed to submit a littel morsel before I left, though. I think all I've got time for anymore is Small maps. :( Things have most certainly gotten closer. There's now a three-way race for 1st place, with SpecFor and the Euros chasing us. Fight on, friends! 1.) I've never left, but I thought you can join again. 2.) Are you at war with them? There is no tech or anything. Are you Allied with them? You'd need to Break Alliance first in order to invade an Ally. 3.) SB's can't move until they are converted into Terror Stars, and then only one space at a time. 4.)
