Theoden of Rohan
Geez...it's a freakin' game. :notsure:
Congrats, Illuminati! Now, keep up the good work! You never know, you might get quite a few recruits from this thread! :)
Hmmm...you are of course entitled to your opinion. However, it seems there are quite a few satisfied customers out here (I am one of them). It appears you prefer more fluff (pretty UI) and less of a real challenge (the only thing that waqs (sp) developed was the AI). I am quite happy with the UI, myself. Perhaps you could go buy MOO3. I have heard many people say it looks really pretty.
I think i'll start that thread as soon as we show up on the empire map...
http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/MetaMap/map.asp Waiting..............................
I try to get my population up in the early game. More pop helps with research among other things.
Besides morale and SE/HI, what more can you do?
Hmm...I've had sharks about 3 of my 12 games (all 1.05). I have prison breakout almost every game. I had the Fundamentalists wipe out the Yor a couple of games back (took every single system...they just ceased to exist! :HOT: ) It seems things happen in my games all the time! :D Haven't had any Rangers found in a while... :( not even any Corvettes. Really missing that event in my current game. I see another Yor slaughter coming.. >:(
EBZ: LOL Ray: So you're cranking Constructors and maxing research resources early? I'm usually trying to build Corvettes early so I can get my Military rating up high enough to keep the AIs off my back. :notsure:
They attack everything and everybody until destroyed. If they appear in an enemy territory, many times the AI will destroy them before you ever see them. As far as starbases, I'm sure they attack them, but I've never seen it myself.
Excellent! That is a cool motto. Okay, when are you really going to start a Illuminati thread??? ;)
The rider suddenly made a series of gesticulations, coloured flames cascaded from his arms and the man and horse were enveloped in smoke. When the smoke cleared, the rider and horse remained. "Bugger." Theoden turned the horse and cantered over the next hill,
This sounds exactly like me! LOL
I had sharks, pirates, and prison riot all in my last submitted game. Besides the sharks, they were not much more than a nuisance. Newbie Hint: Space Sharks are very dangerous no matter how strong you are. Nothing is worse than watching trained battleships, and even dreadnaughts, get wasted by the squirming red death...especially when you are at war. >:(
EBZ, Ray, and Wombie: I've read the Orion Strategy, but I'd like a little clarification. How do you get through the techs so fast? I try cranking research up to 100%, but still takes a long time. Granted, I occasionally move the slider to try building up my military strength or to get a crucial trade good/wonder, but it seems to take me a long time to get through the tech tree. :notsure: I personally don't want to 'crank' but would like to get through the techs a little quicke
My first game was a Cakewalk. Hell, I had to learn how to play the game (manual...I don't need no stinkin' manual!), and it took hours to play (actually days)! You played it, you deserve credit for it. :)
Just thought you'd all be interested in your new KFD commercial. It's on the Fellowship News page http://home.earthlink.net/~nascarfanatic/fellowshipnewslog/ Hey! Post 2033! I'll be 62!! LOL
What's your native language, Wedge? By the way, welcome to the Metaverse! :)
Okay, I give up... Has Treylis ever told you what the slogan: Ad Astra Per Aspera Means? It's got to be Latin, but I only understand the first part, Toward the Stars (Ad Astra). I'm intrigued!
couslee...you sound like a perfect candidate for the pirates of G.R.O.S.S. Don't worry, someone from G.R.O.S.S. will contact you shortly. :)
I play Large or Huge because smaller than that and it's too quick (for me). I like longer, drawn out campaigns with some extended wars and lots of exploration. My favorite setup is Huge/Uncommon/Loose Clusters/Challenging Not too easy, but not too hard. The AI has room to play, but not enough 15+ planets to run away with it. Actually this setup seems to provide a balanced game (at least for me).
I'm not sure I see it as whining, but you have the right to your own opinion. In a more fraternal spirit, check out the newest news flash on Fellowship News! It should brighten your day... http://home.earthlink.net/~nascarfanatic/fellowshipnewslog/ Fellowship News - All the News A Ring Wraith Needs!
It's quite disturbing to hear of Terror Stars (with the ability to murder millions and millions) referred to as "bon-bons". LOL Thanks for the hint Cotal. :)
Oh well, I'll let the whiners and crybabies do their thing and get back to playing. It's obvious you're just disagreeing to be disagreeable.
Easy, Pontius. I don't think there's a need for name calling here. :notsure:
Are you saying that it wasn't designed to do that, CariElf? OMG!! GalCiv is developing it's own strategy!!!! :SURPRISED: :SURPRISED: Just kiddin'! :HOT:
Welcome, DarkHobbit! Excellent nickname! You would fit right in with the Fellowship of the Ring Empire, should you decide to join an empire. I agree that the lack of games submitted is not a warning sign. This is the time of year when most people are outside doing things and enjoying the nice weather. There are longer periods of daylight and more time to do other things. Plus the game has been out for a while and new ppl are getting more and more infrequent. But I believe when
