Thanks for the replies folks. I think I will have to contact the support people for the problem. Ive tried running the exe directly and I get an error that states I missing a .dll associated with Impulse (just off the top of my head so might be a little off.) Thanks for the replies. As it turns out uninstalling Impulse and then reinstalling a new version of it worked. I updated a couple of other threads with this information but forgot this one sadly. Give that a try FatKid12 it did work for me and hopefully will work for you.
I had the same thing happen to myself. Mine was getting stuck at 88.9% as well with a constant retry message. I finally took Impulse right off my system, downloaded it again, reinstalled and it worked. This worked for me and hopefully will work for you BiggGee. It should not have to be this way but at least it worked.

I am having the exact same problem as the OP. I do have IE 7 as well as Net 2.0. I keep getting the same message that Impulse needs to update and it gets stuck at 88.9% and attempts to retry the update. Any help would be appreciated. Edit.. Hello. After recently noticing that both Sins and Sins:Entrenchment have updates I found I cannot download them. The message I receive is that Impulse is downloading an update and until that is complete I cannot update my games. The problem is that Impulse is stuck at 89% of the update download and then is stuck retrying to finish the download. Until it is done
Well I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it from scratch. I am glad to say that it worked and now have the correct version. The strange thing about this all has been the fact the initial install was done after the update had been posted so I am not sure why I did not get the updated version in the first place. Problem solved though. Thank you for the replies and the suggestions it proved most helpful.
It is definitely the fog of war. The first three sectors are completely covered and the very next sector over from my starting point is free of the effect entirely and the difference conforms to the sector borders. First time poster but a long time lurker. I have gone through the various threads regarding the fog of war bug and it would seem that 1.50X.072 represented the fix to this problem.
