The latest beta of OD+ does allow you to set the icons to zoom in the tabbed docks. As far as the difference between administration account and other users I would have to agree with you that it's probably a "policy" issue with XP. However I'm not aware of where you could affect a change for this behavior.

Thanks HG, VERY useful info! I already had a link to Black Viper. Back when the sasser worm was running around, his info was invaluable getting my office computers back up and running. I check there from time to time for hardware help but I hadn't seen this page before.

I've had problems printing from it. Usually to one of the shared printers on the LAN. It's locked up while using the "Select All" command more than once also. I've hit a few sites that didn't come up correctly but I'm sure they will fix that over time. Keep in mind it's only version 1.0 All in all it's vastly superior to IE and Netscape IMHO

I like the new zoom, can you adjust the range? I agree with Bluedev, I also would like a way to lock tabbed docks in position. You know CerebroJD's 2 edge idea could be useful for placing square corner docks as long as you could define the stacking (rows & cloumns) of the icons. Tabs would invert or collapse on autohide.

Allright, I think I'll start one of these get to know your community threads. What was the first PC you owned or worked on? 286, 386, Pentium I, II, III etc. Mine was a Radio Shack TRS80 Model 4 (basic language computer) my company bought for me to do survey closures, roadway design applications and some basic drainage programs. I believe it was 1983 or late 82. There been a whole lot of others since. Currently I use a Pentium IV Laptop. Wh

I got the version free on Compuserve way back when dial up speeds were around 1200-2400 bps (and access cost $22.50/hour) and both Gates and Peter Norton were available on the forums there. They gave their stuff away for free to get people to due their beta testing for them. 'Course version 1.0 bogged my 286 down, locked up constantly and didn't provide much that DOS couldn't do. I always thought Gates was a jerk but Norton was pretty easy going guy.<B

All those and -a hide desktop icons availability -automatic scrolling of long menu lists with mouseover (not by clicking the arrow) -configure your left margin (or all margins) for text thru the program instead of hand editing the obskin file. -I also wouldn't mind having a little documentation for the obskin file. All in all tho this is very useful and seems to have a pretty small footprint.

I've currently stopped using SDC because mine DOES NOT automatically update the discussion threads and I have to do a refresh in order to see new threads each time I log in. The web site boards work well but you have to hit the tab at the top of the page each time you read a thread to see the list of threads and when the sites running slow it's a pain.
