Default behavior with the Steam Deck is poor. Controller support in launcher would be nice.

One additional long shot wish for a sequel: 2v2 fleet battles
I'll buy the sequel regardless :) Long shot, but I'd like to see a multiplayer cooperative campaign and better gamepad support.
GOG connect is pretty amazing. https://www.gog.com/connect If there is progress made in this direction I'd love to hear about it :) I assume it is covered by NDAs and such though.
However, Fred and Paul had no quarrel with Stardock making a game with NEW characters and content.
That is exactly what happened here. A game with new characters and content. Anything that is actually in the game and is somehow perceived as *not* a new character for whatever reason definitely falls into "fair use" ("greys" are definitely fair use). I have sympathy for Paul and Fred. Now th
Things I'd like to see for SC:O * Enhanced multiplayer support Maybe something as simple as being able to play fleet battles versus the computer while waiting in the queue for a human opponent. Maybe 2v2 fleet battles. Maybe some type of 1v1 local multiplayer strategy game, simplistic galactic conquest with a lot of fleet battles. Maybe online multiplayer X4 style with each player controlling one race. Maybe online or local multiplayer coop adventure
Yep, there are many issues with using a gampad. I've switched to using a Steam Controller and using the default community config for it. Much better user experience.
I'm interested in testing out a Vulkan build as well, for use with wine/crossover/proton on linux.
I agree that situation is frustrating. I've encountered it myself. I do think that the "Y" button will pause the action there. I could be mistaken. It would be nice to have a universal pause button though.
There are lots of places in the game you can't just immediately pause, and this gets very aggravating.
I agree that it would be nice to have a unified / universal way to "pause" the action. It seems that with an XBox 360 controller, the "Y" button seems to suffice "most" of the time. Where are you having issues pausing? Are you using a controller for your primary input?
I wholeheartedly agree. Do you have any other frustrations when using a controller? Mind chiming in on this thread? https://forums.stardock.net/491235/controller-ui-improvements
I'll try to update this when I encounter less-than-perfect end user experiences when using a controller as the primary input method. * "Flee or Fight?" dialog requires keyboard and mouse input. This makes the game impossible to play through without using the keyboard and mouse. I think this is probably the highest priority controller issue since the rest of them are just QoL issues. * When two controllers are connected, please assume by default that both cont
Thanks for the reminder. I'll create an account and give a review that accurately reflects my impression. Thumbs up :)
Agreed, I did this on accident as well when trying to set up a local mulitplayer fleet battle. Once you learn to avoid it, it is fine, but for new users they'll do it once I'm sure.
I have some controller issues as well. I use XBox 360 wireless controllers with a USB wireless dongle. I do not have that specific issue, however :( Maybe we can try to make a list of all the places where controller support could be improved?
