Brad, will this be stand alone or would it be required to use it in conjunction with OD? The reason I ask is that it seems to be self-sufficient in that it'd make a useful stand alone app, but I'm confused on what it's role will be. I also ask because I don't particularly like using Object Desktop but I would like the ability to skin and customize my right-click desktop menu. Please advise.
If you provide a service or goods, then you have customers, people who partake in whatever you offer. If that paid service or good is available for "Free," you have a group of people who are called your customers, and should be treated as such. I read comparisons being made to OD+ and Stardock, but that just further adds credence to the debate. I'm confused... there are skin submissions for the icon package and two wb skins that all link to a single installer (hosted off-site). I don't want the installer and I don't want all that encompasses the skin suite. Cygnus, those are great thoughts and I agree generally. However, as even quality of standards checks won't catch every conceivable flaw or exploit in a system/application. The collective 'hacker' community is much more powerful than a handful of developers creating an app or even a company developing a network. Some effort should be made toward more end-user insurance/recourse. Having your system invaded shouldn't be the casually thrown around 'hazzard of the work place' / 'use at your own risk'

I mentioned this in one of my daily IRC haunts, irc.deviantart.com #devart and someone brought to my attention that the reason why it "appears" that IE is lighter in resources than Mozilla Firefox is that it utilizes resources already used by Explorer. That makes a LOT of sense to me and I can't believe I didn't think of that initially. Heh.
I know it's not as big a deal as I made it to be, and I'm fairly certain no one else is going to check this article, but I was curious and went ahead and opened IE and Firefox at the same page. For whatever reason, Firefox has a sizable amount more load than IE.
