Well, I turn 22 on the 8th. So I've decided to look at my goals that I had during the last year and see how I did: Do well in school: Achieved. I had the highest GPA's I've had while in college. And I enjoyed most of them (or at least saw that they were usefull) Make more friends: Achieved. It was a very good floor to live on last year... sadly it se

I didn't get enough sleep last night. I'm hopped up on diet Mountain Dew. And I'm bored... so I decided to create a new word: Quasipseudoantidisestablishmentarianism! I think that means "Resembling false opposition to the separation of church and state." If I ever have to write some long, boring (and dumb essay) in some philosophy or comp class, I'll have to try to us

Some time ago, someone wrote a really interesting article on how to build a computer that was optimized for XP. They talked about using a very fast hard drive for the operating system and cache, what size to make partitions for maximum use of the space, and so on. I'm almost certain it was here somewhere on JoeUser, but I can't find it... anyone know where it might be

I've got 4 tests next week, and I don't want to study anymore. History I'm not too worried about. EM fields and Dynamics I am. And I don't know how I should feel about Ballroom Dance. I've been studying on and off for most of the day. I think I've got most of the history stuff I need to know dealt with, but I'm not even sure where to begin on dynamics and fields. Mayb

Well, it's move in day here. 11 people from my floor are back here again (at least on the same floor) this year. Most of them aren't here yet. I'm starting to get bored. I'm almost completly moved into my room. Roomate isn't here yet. It's cold today. Maybe something will come up later and I'll have something to do other than surf the web and more stuff around. I migh

One good site I've found on how to deal with spyware and such is http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm One of the things they have that I didn't see above that is covered is how to block a lot of that stuff using a HOSTS file (gives wrong IP information so the browser doesn't know where to go to get the ads/drive-by downloads/etc, as I understand it).

Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy freezes and looses girl. Ever single time that I can remember, whenever I like a girl, I always wind up being unable to work up the courage to ask her out, ask if she want's to dance, or even hold much of a conversation. I'm so sick of it! Then, when I get home, I just feel depressed because I lost yet another oppor

According to the IRS: "Illegal income, such as stolen or embezzled funds, must be included in your income on line 21 of Form 1040, or on Schedule C or Schedule C–EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity. " You can find it on the liked web site between "Holocaust victims restitution" and "Indian fishing rights." <!-- Ju-

I'd be warry of Compaq too. I've had some... issues with their tech-support. And, if I remember correctly, they always come in near or at the bottom of Consumer Reports tech support ratings (unless they've improved lately).

Well, I really need to do this more often. Whats new: Gas is up to $1.74 a gallon. I am not happy with this. Apparently, people in Minot are reporting that bigfoot is now living in the area. I almost certainly failed my computer science test last Friday, but I think most of the rest of the class did too, so at least I have some company. I have a Applied Linear Algebra test tommorow, but I'm not too woried about it. I'm close to finishing up th

I had a dream last night. And I rememberd it. That's a little odd, but not too much. The dream itself was... bizzare. Even for one of my dreams. Now, a brief summary of what I remember. I was outside. It was cloudy. There was a group of people there. I somehow wound up having a job to keep someone company or just was by them. She was a girl I know from my floor. Somehow, during the dream, she would up being a telepath like Lyta from B

No, I'm not dead. I've just been busy and more importantly, not much interesting has happened to me. I did try to write an article about a week ago, but either my computer or Joe ate it before it went up. Valentines day went something like this: I got up. I ate. I did laundry. I watched TV. I kicked myself for being too much of a coward to have asked out a girl that I like. I worked on my digital camera, trying to figure out why it sometimes hangs like a computer. I helped my roomate

Well, after looking at Brad Wardell's article on the Google generated ads, I can tell you Google doesn't seem to think I care about anything but... blogging. Hey Google: Engineering. Quantum Mechanics. Pretty things that are shiny. Pretzels. Lava light. Gel pen. Chap stick. Wallet. Clock radio. Lint roller. Soap. Post-it-notes. Lets see if that creates any more intersting ads. And just for fun: the refferal list Google Search: hitchhikers guide to the galaxy criticism -book -books (

For a nice change of pace, my day was pretty good. I had my ethics class. Nothing too interesting there today. I ate lunch with friends, and had Taco Pizza, which is one of my favorites (Whoever thought up combining tacos and pizza: Thank You!). The only bad thing today was the three hour Lab from Hell. Sometimes, I have to wonder if there's a shield around our station that causes the laws of physics to stop working for us. This lab was measuring the value of beta in NPN and PNP transistors. The

The best way to summarize today would be going from good to bad to worse to worser. I knew I should have stayed in bed when the radio said that the temperature outside was 38 degrees below zero. Nevertheless, I got up and out of bed. The classes this morning were fairly interesting, actually, but I don’t remember a thing from Controls, but it wasn’t too bad. Lunch was, as usual on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, was rushed, but I had time. I took the bus over to Striebel hall where Data Struct

Well, we've gotten almost 14 inches of snow in the storm that hit us this weekend. And it's supposed to get up to a balmy -17 Fahrenheit (thats -27 for those of you who like Celsius) for the high temperature tommorow. :p

If I ask her out and she says no, what happens then? We live in the same building, on the same floor, and I consider her a friend. I wouldn’t want to create an awkward situation between us. But then I’ll never know what could have been. If I don’t ask her out, things will stay the same, I’ll probably keep having this crush, and I’ll keep being lonely. But, she’ll still be a friend that I trust and can get along with. If I ask her out and she says no, because she already is goin
