My quick takes on beta 1: 1. I also think that jumping through wells should be impossible. I think ships should at least have to move far enough that they have a clear line of sight to their destination before jumping (this way they can't jump through the gravity well, but they won't have to move all the way to the other side of the well either). 2. Generally, I would like to know if the pacing/speed of the game is likely to change much? To me it is way to fast to really feel "

-The camera controls need to be reversed or at least have an option to reverse them. After a couple hours of playing i had adapted to the controls with no issues but when i first started playing it seemed very counter-intuitive and would be likely to turn me off playing the game if it were a demo and i was trying the game out. Yeah this should be optional. I found it natural the way it is, but lots of people seem to like it the other way around. <div
If you logged on to the metaverse before starting the game the ship designs are located at my games\galciv2\metaverse\ships, otherwise they are in the my games\galciv2\ships folder
Would it be problematic to have an option for this in the video settings? You could even have a big scary dialogue pop up when we select 4096 textures or something I'm looking forward to the higher res textures (will probably be uber cool on my 23" 1920x1200 screen) <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 and there should be a prefs.ini file there
Are people having resolution problems? I am running at 1920x1200 and there are absolutely no problems with that. And the developers are trying to support all resolutions above 1024x768, so if you were to have a problem then it should get fixed pretty fast.
Me too on a 7800GTX. I have not had it happen when using the HW cursor though so it's no biggie.
Well the 9.0 grade is certainly deserved (and it should be even higher!). The Norwegian site gamer.no also liked the game and gave it a 8/10 (which is really good. A 9/10 is extremely rare). Go Stardock
If you want an effective invasion and war fleet you should have fast ships, and for transports you really should research advanced troop modules. You can then have really fast (10+ pcs/turn) troop transports and warships, and each troop transport can hold several thousand legions, so you only need a couple of them to take a planet. That's how I play at least. If you only focus on weapons, and no engines, then of course it is going to be a very slow pro
Okay this topic is obviously a very important and hot issue.... so my question is " where are the developers? " Frogboy, draginol (and other aliases?) has replied several times already, and he is the AI coder and the owner of Stardock. He even posted part of the game code to show how this issue is han
So for a 19 quality planet the theoretical limit would be 1600B? That seems... excessive. AFAIK the maximum on any planet with any PQ is 100B
Could someone please translate the release time to Central European Time for me? 2100 CET.
There is only one question that im interested in...at which time can i download it in europe? Now its 21 Feb 12 oclock midday here and still no update for the preload... I think the target time still is 3pm EST, which is 2100 CET (UTC+1).
I'm gonna be cutting this one close. At 4pm I absolutely have to be on the bus to the airport, and I am not sure that I will have an internet connection where i'm going for a couple of weeks (but I am bringing my computer). So I REALLY hope I can download the remaining files at 3pm...

There is no such thing. Espionage will only give you access to their planet details and starbase details screens. It also allows you to steal techs from them that you dont have researched..... Id just do what Kryo suggested if you want to keep tabs on the war techs... What is this then: <img src="https://ww
I'm liking it too, but where are the options (I can't find watchlist, or user account options)...
Are you just looking for a place to upload the file so that others can download it? If that's the case there are lots of sites that offer this. One such site is www.rapidshare.de (no costs, no registration). Is this what you are looking for?
I believe you can recieve intelligence reports if you are spying on him when he designs a new ship. Maybe there is a screen somewhere that gives some insight into his weapons and defense techs if you have a high enough espionage level?
Thank you for that explanation Now I at least know how this is handled. This system just seems strange to me (so I needed to have it explained)... I just don't see why I shouldn't be allowed to "produce" 30 research points, while at the same time using my 36 manufacturing points. Factories and research centers are independent structures, so I don't see why they should limit each other. Edit: Veinless and I are in agreement it
It is the case. You must choose how you are spending you BC But I am not sure to undersatnd your problem. To illustrate with an example: I have a total of 20 military manufacturing points, 20 social manufacturing points and 10 research points. The way I think would be logical is to then be able to set the spending slider up to a max of 50b
Frogboy said: Right now, social production is still "wasted" but military spending simply isn't deducted from your treasury. So if you're not building a ship, you're not wasting the credits. So wasted social production is intentional? To me it feels like an unnatural way to handle production. I would
Fleet Tactics: You could tell your ship how you wanted it to determine which ship it attacked Choices: 1) Worst- the easiest ship to kill 2) Best- the most dangerous shit in the fleet 3) Special- aim for special ships like transports or freighters I think nr. 3 would be problematic, as i
It is stated explicitly in the FAQ (sticky in the galciv II forum) that there will be classic downloadable patches as well as updates through Stardock Central. The classic updates are just like all other games (a new version released once in a while, though most games don't get the king of support stardock gives). If you use stardock central you get the updates much faster, and much more often.
I have been wondering this myself. The manual left me a little unsure. Is it then true that it is impossible to waste credits? No matter how I set the sliders, every credit that is not put into my treasury is actually used to manufacture 1 point, or to research 1 point?
