After creating an image to use as an icon or png for objectdock, how do i save it in PS7 so it's transparent and only displays the image and not the background??? Thanks in anticipation!

If you want to cut an image from abackground, use the majic wand tool, click on either the object to be selected or on the background, u may need to hold shift key and keep clicking until all the white selection marks dissap. once u have your object selected invert the selection under selection copy and paste into an open image or create a new file and paste. hope this helps.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. Am I correct in saying that all u need to do is create an image in ps7 and save as PNG? what sort of resolution should the image be 28, 300dpi?. For example if I want to create an icon or object for My Documents,(a picture of me for instance),i dont know, the images that you all seem to create are extreamly sharp. I would love to be able to do that, its the sharpness and clarity that amazes me.

i'mm completely new to this game, don't know where to start except for those dock objects Jairo Boudewyn creates, unbeleivable designs, i would like to know how u would go about doing objects like that and Icons as well, what sort of graphic app to use etc, i have ps7 and how on earth does you people create this stuff. I know its alot to ask but any help would be appreciated, i've never seen such great designs before.
