I am glad to see you are back. You have helped me alot and I know I am very grateful.

I thought I would let you guys know I got everything back up and running. Would of posted sooner but it has taken this long to get everything working. It ended up that my power supply was bad and it kinda just went downhill from there, but all hard drives are working now. I wanted to give you guys a big "THANK YOU". <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/events.gif" border=0 ALIGN
I guess anything is possible. That is something I actually wondered about myself. Everything from the backup drive was scanned at some point before it went on there, but that doesn't mean there isn't one there. I have Norton Antivirus cd and I think you can boot with it to check. I will give it a shot. Just don't know if it will scan without running it from within windows. It's worth a shot at this point. Thanks for the suggestion.
I would of gotten back to this sooner but it just seems to not want to completely work. Finally got the backup drive to work by doing as you suggested and put each drive on its on IDE cable. It detected the drive and was able to move some of the files off the drive, but windows kept losing it for some reason, would have to go back into disk management and have it redetect the seagate drive. After I got most of what I wanted it off it, I powered down and disconnected the backup drive. When I
My motherboard has two IDE connections, there labeled IDE 1 and 2. The two hard drives are on IDE 1 and the cd-rw and dvd are on IDE 2. Disconnected the zip drive completely, still no luck. I am going to try unplugging the cd drives from the motherboard and put another new cable to the hard drives and see if that works. Maybe if the only things connected to associate to drive letters is the hard drives it will boot to windows. Because I agree that something seems to be getting in the way wh
Sorry it took so long to get back. Had to take a break before I took a hammer to this thing. So, here is what I tried. Downloaded and made the floppies from seagate''s site like you suggested. When you try to boot from them it says there are no system files on the floppies. Checked the floppies, it did make them, there are files on them. So, I got curious and tried the seagate cd I have, again. Then you get the this message: ''Please remove any cd''s or floppy disks Hit ctrl+
Thanks so much yrag. I will try this and see if it works. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. It may be a day or two due due to some stuff I have to take care of, but will let you know what happens. I also think your right about nothing actually being wrong with the drive, just seems weird it has tried to boot with it connected. Either way the company is going to replace the drive after I get the files off it, so thats the good news.
First, both of the hard drives I have are IDE. Second, here is how I have my drives set: A Drive: Floppy C Drive: Main hard drive D Drive: CD-RW Drive E Drive: DVD-Rom F Drive: Zip Disk currently not plugged in G Drive: Backup Hard Drive, the one that doesn't want to load. Now, the stuff you mention to download, when I run it, I need to have both hard drives connected, correct? Or will it run with just the backup(seagate) drive connected. The reason I as
yrag....my motherboard is a Soyo Dragon Sy-kt400 dragon lite, the hard drive I am trying to get the files off of is a Seagate 80gb. You ask about how I was transfering the files off windows. I may be misunderstanding but the drive that has the files on it I want doesn't have windows on it, there are just all my backup files. So, the one time I got it to load the extra drive I just used "move to" in explorer. I am completely lost when it comes to Dos, so am not exactly sure how to get the fil
Ok, I did as yrag suggested and double checked the jumpers and Bios. The C drive is set to master, the backup to slave. I got it to boot once and was able to get a few files off of it, but then something crashed in the middle and it stop working. Tried to reboot but it wouldn't. Then disconnected the backup drive yet again, booted windows works fine. If that drive is connected windows does not want to boot. Talk about frustrating. ><img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/mad.gif
I had the same problem. Try changing the fonts to different ones in the configuration. It was the only way I fixed it. Some of mine would be installed in the font folder but just wouldn't show up in sysmetrix. It may take a bit more time but it worked for me. Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone, here's what I do know. The jumper settings on it are set to slave and I had it as my G drive when it was working last week, it was working fine till then. I know in the BIOS it finds it as slave also. When it was working we had it set to cable when it started acting up so I changed it. I will check the bios for the setting for the boot drive, I believe it is set to HDD-0 right now. Windows will load from my main drive with the backup connected it just doesn't stop. You can
I know this may not be the place to ask but I am having some issues with a hard drive. I have a drive that is used strictly for backup, windows is no where on it. It was just replaced by the manufacture a month and a half ago. It was working fine, now if I leave it connected my main drive won't even boot windows or it sits forever trying. Gave up after an hour of it trying to boot yesterday. There is also a beeping you can hear that sounds when the hard drive light flashes. Almost seems li
I had a similar problem with that too. I would just extract, copy and paste the folders into the sysmetrix themes folder but they were not showing up. The picture of it would be but not the text, I had to change the fonts in them to make them all show up. Don't know if that's the same problem you are having but figured it was worth a shot to mention it.
Thanks so much Apocalypse_67....
Thanks goodmorphing,I got it now. Ok, maybe not... This is Pixxy recolored pink. [Message Edited]
Let's see if I can get this to work. It's the Pixxy desktop recolored pink. https://www.wincustomize.com/window.asp?Cmd=PREVIEW&source=http://skins.wincustomize.com/Oracle73/desktop.JPG Ok, what am I doing wrong? [Message Edited]
There is also one at joeuser.com, here is the link. http://martin.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=1886 I remembered reading it and thought it might help.
You can also go to the Stardock folder in explorer and copy any themes folders from there for which ever programs you have. That's what I do, may take a bit depending on how many there are to copy. But I have had 2 hard drives go in the last 3 months, copying them makes it alot easier to put them back.
I wasn't gonna say anything but I have been having the same trouble. I have tried using IE, Netscape and WC browser but none of them let you upload desktop pic. Been having trouble with it for about the last week. I tried renaming the jpg image and making a whole new one but still no luck. [Message Edited]
Think I might have found something for you that might help. Take a look at this screenshot... https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=13&SkinID=4282 In it the sysmetrix is a horizontal one he changed to vertical, if you look at the comments, about half way down, he says how he did it. As for changing the size of it I'm not sure, wouldn't mind knowing though. You could try starting a thread to get pinchecl's attention, he might help. He helped me with one I needed to
Look in the section here for sysmetrix themes there will be ones in there that are vertical. You can just move it to which side of the screen you want it on. If if won't let you move it look in the configuration for positioning and make sure movable has a check next to it. Once it is where you want it you can lock it in place, that is up to you. If you look at my screenshot you will see I have a vertical one on the right side of the screen. Hope this helps. <img src="http://images.stardock
I would agree. Nice change of pace too. Especially when there are so many blue ones out there. They can get stale after awhile.
I thought it look familiar to me. If I hadn't just cleaned out my windowblind folder I would not of remembered it.
It looks like this one just recolored: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=caution&sort=updatedate&order=Descending&library=1 I may be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.
