Civ 3 is definitly easier than gal civ, because its not as deep. At first civ 3 was somewhat hard to play too, but its just basically building the strongest armies to protect yourself. once you have a large enough army, its tempting not to take over everything. civ 3 was a great game, but basically, war based. the ai declares war on you no matter what, it has a dumb declaration war thingy, even if your forces outnumber and out gun the entire world's combined, even if your culture is much bet

I have a question about editing game files. 1) Does it harm your game or cpu? 2) What kind of files can you edit (i.e. ships, money, etc...)? 3) How do you pull up the files through notepad or something, and then how do you edit them, is there a code or something. 4) Does it have the shutdown effect like on Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, (when you edit files, it gradually makes the gameplay worse and harder until finally its so unplayable where you hav

Yeah it is pretty hard actually unless you play below normal. But then, if I play below normal, its not as fun as to play on normal. Plus, ive been beaten many times on cakewalk. Thats pretty degrading. I usually now set the Drengins on Pure Evil and Beginner, the Altarian Republic on Pure Good and Normal, the Arceans on Neutral and Beginer, the Torians on Pure Good and Normal, and the Yor Collective on Pure Evil and Normal. This makes the game AI a little easier, but still normal like, but

Well thats my problem, i dont give into bribes, i think its cowardly (even though its just a game). And once again i was defeated, the drengins had an overwhelming force somehow gathered up within like five years. the torians were the first to go (good ridance those backstabers) then came the arceans and altarians, it was epic. i fought it out long and hard, man it was sweet. i was poed that i lost cause i gave everything, it was battleship to battleship, armies to armies. it was an all ou

I think there is a bug with the Torians or something, i mean no matter their alignment, they attack you still without very good probable cause. Ive been to war with them more times than the yors or drengins combined. If its not the torians, its the altarians. is there a bug with the pure good alignment or something? becuase the only one to not declare war on me and attack is the arceans, who are set at neutral. the drengins and yors declare war on me but they dont do so or attack as much as

The Torians are bad enough on pure good and fools, theyre the true challenge of the game, becuase they go after you wether your good or not and whether thier good or not. Im currently at war with them and they took over two of my sectors one had three stars and the other had two. Thier some tough bastards and im out to get them now that the yor has fallen to them and me and the altarians so the universe is a little emptier but better. I have the altarians and arceans on my side against the dr

tetris is too easy. i need something challenging but not to the point of insanity, given that galciv is not a sellout and that i like, what i dont like is you have to get your ass wooped a few hundred times before you "begin" to get the basics. Now galciv is a good challenge, but i got to work and got school and sports, therefore, i rarely have time to play it. when i do, i get killed. i though it would be more like civilization only in space. well i was wrong, but it has its ups and downs.

It's not like I wanna cheat though. I hate to cheat until i beat the game at least once or twice. Then i usually cheat to try and do stuff i cant do without cheating. But i still think that cheating is low if you dont use it to test your game or see the extras that you normally cant unless you dedicate your life towards it, thats probably what itll take for me at least to even try and get halfway through Galactic Civilizations. At first the hardness was a welcome challenge, kinda like Civili

Let me rebuff my remark, I'm beginning to hate it. I had to complain, sorry, i edited it once to bleep out the foul language. But the i guess i cant edit it more than once. Anyways, what i said about trying everything and still failing. The game must hate me or something. It's just not fun when i dont have some sort of hint of the chance of winning. I mean even if i make everyone fools and only one good, they still all turn against me. Nothing works so far, thats why i ask for cheats or a

I HATE THIS GAME WITH A PASSION! WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I BOUGHT THIS GAME? HOW CAN THE DESIGNERS ECPECT ME TO ENJOY THE GAME WHEN I CANT GET PAST THE YEAR 2200 (IF IM FRIKIN LUKCY!) EVEN MY SO CALLED ALLIES STAB ME IN THE BACK. I MADE ONE SO CALLED PURE GOOD GUY, HE F***ING TOOK OVER EVERYTHING AND DECLARED WAR ON THE OTHER GOOD GUYS. I CANT EVER EXPAND PAST 5 TO 6 SECTORS. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IVE TRIED EVERYTHING INCLUDING THOSE DAMN STRATEGY GUIDES. THE WORST THING

Yeah speaking of money, how much does the ai get to begin with? I swear I was playing for like two minutes before I ran into the Yor's and they had like dozens of ships and a huge population. I tried some of the above tactics and they worked somewhat. They just delayed the inevitable, I built up my forces first, then my research, still around the year 2200, i got killed. I hope the expansion pack will add some kind of editor like the one from civilization 3. Or at least make the ai a little

I don't know maybe its just me, but every time I play Galactic Civilizations (2003 version)I can never get past like the year 2190 or somewhere around that year. The Yor Collective totally conquered me. I started the game again only on cakewalk diffuculty and set everyone to pure good and fools. But once again, i was defeated, ironically enough, by the Trojan Confederation, who was set to pure good and fools. If thier pure good, then why the hell did they attack me? I didnt even expand too
