How about --> 1) a completely user-defined environment OS where you could shift your computer's resource management to and from certain tasks on the fly - say, donate the bulk of your CPU to rendering filters in PhotoShop? I don't like having to hit ctrl+alt+del, processes, set-priority to get 1 program to realize it is going to need a bunch more of the CPU than an "average" program. (Yes, I know you can set RAM in prefs in PS, but that's just not enough fine control dammit! - especia

There is a section on it already at deviantart.com, however, there is only 1 skin thus far and the guy who posted a skin admits that he can't get it to work with LogonStudio 0.90 correctly---> "Description: This is port from one of my submissions in photography. I couldn't get the import/export to work with LogonStudio .90 beta, but it'll work if you just unzip this into the logonstudio folder." I guess I am just a little wary since there are 244 working LogonXP2.0
LogonStudio 0.90 is now the default XP logon utility right, not LogonXP2.0 right? When are .logon screens or .logonxp files going to be made available, (because I have had no success thus far in coverting any logonui.exe files to .logonxp format nor finding any .logon files to rename to .logonxp format). Anyone having sucess with this process? thx, ash
Thank you Frogboy
Does anyone have any experience making logon pages with the XP Logon Utility or know a link to a tutorial? Thanks, Ash
I just wanted to take a minute to wish everyone safe, happy and peaceful holidays this year. After September 11th and all of the trauma that ensued this year we owe it to eachother to try to get along. Someone once said that a truly wise person is a person who finds happiness in what they already have... ... among the other things in my life I am thankful for online community like this one. If you somehow get this turned off, you can toggle it back on again by going to: 1) start 2) control panel 3) user accounts 4) change the way users log on or off Fast user switching needs to be on to use the Logon XP utility. - ash
Looks like you can get it from here (this is the DDR card, not the SDR card and it looks like it requires DirectX 8.1 or higher FYI) ---> http://support.ati.com/drivers/winxp/winxp_radeon_6133276.html regards, ash
Thank God! I felt like I was playing rock-paper-sciccors sans paper and sciccors. - ash
Also, how long has it been since you updated your gfx card drivers/bios? The reason I ask is that I am running a sony trinitron flatscreen monitor and WindowsXP Pro too, and at first I had issues with the display, (though admittedly not the one listed above). Since I couldn't run the NVIDIA Detanator 3 drivers (running a 64MB 4X AGP Guilletmot Hercules Prophet 2 Ultra) I had to wait for drivers to come out from the manufacturer to clear up the issues. Just a thought.
Semantics aside I payed just yesterday for CursorXP even though I thought it ought to be included for download through the Component Manager and my "one year subscription". However, I agree with Hell Dragon that this site will probably never go down, regardless of anyone's feelings or lost profits for the reasons HD mentioned. All I feel I can really do is simply keep $upporting stardock and spreading the word about skinning. Sorry for putting the stick in the proverbi
Wait a min... I see an inclusion list, but no exclusion list. OMG! I know Internet Exploder, etc, but I have no idea what runs the taskbar, etc. I could always do a ctrl+alt+del to get a list of programs and then track them down with searches, but that seems like it would take an inordinately long amount of time. Am I missing something on the right click, properties, appearance, advanced page (in WinXP), because I only get an inclusion page? thx again,
ah... good call. i haven't needed to do that since i ran w2k. thx, ash
I emailed the folks at icqplus.org about 5-6 weeks ago about it, but no word yet about a fix. Anyone else have this problem?
When I bought the object desktop package it was "optional" for me. I wanted to put some money into their work since I love skinning programs and OSes and so forth. At the time, however, there was a site which I went to pretty regularly which has full version crackz of most of stardocks' products available for d/l. Most software companies I know of I really don't give a *cough* about (ie MS). But stardock I have actually come to cherish. So my question is, is it w

Transmutate... you are correct. The email addy I was using is now no longer working as my webhosting company went out of business (so mail is no longer delivering) and I have not gotten a static IP to virtual host my domains set up yet. Jafo, I have altered my account's email addy to a hotmail account, but should I resubmit the wallpapers? Is there another way to test if my uploads are failing? Thank you, - ash
I have now submitted 3 separate wallpapers to this site over the course of about 2 weeks and not a single one of them has been put up. I have also emailed the wallpapers to alexandrie at [email protected] (listed in the contact section as being responsible for this website) and have as yet to be gotten back to. I need to know if I am doing something wrong on my end with the uploading of aforementioned wallpapers or if something is wrong with the wallpapers that I am sub
okay... hmm... looks like the server thinks it needs to add the http://scripts.wincustomize.com/ prefix to my link... anyone know how to get around this? here's the URL anyways... 216.122.237.172/australian.jpg
There are no words which can convey meaning enough to comfort or relieve those affected during dark times such as these, but I know that because there are shadows there must also be a light. Let us be a light for one another.
