It sounds to me like the problem here is this event happening when there are very worlds on the map as the impact becomes so much greater. Could the effect be altered to take a percentage number of worlds up to a maximum of 2 worlds per race? 5 races with verage of 5 worlds each under current system would leave each race with 3 and the JK with 10 (2 from each world). If instead it was up to 20% of each races worlds for a max of 2 each, then each race would have 4 and the JK would have

Constructor micromanagement is also one of this games greatest achiles heels, but I have not seen any comments about it from developers. I cross my fingers that they get some (as you said) automation to this aspect of the game. Do you know that if you place a rally point on a starbase you can order newly built cobstructors to go to it automatica
Ever sell a house? It's a lot like that. You WANT your neighbors who sell their houses to get as much money as possible because that sets up how much you are likely to make selling yours. If other houses do poorly on the market, it affects you. I suppose that a lot of the time the industry works that way, but there are certainly exceptions. For example, Galciv
I agree with the heneral consensus some of the bnonuses sound insanely powerful and thus exploitable, some penalties to go with them could be the way to go. What if the Super Hives fast factories was balanced with a research penalty? Sure you can build five ships to my one, but I have better tech. While I may be a super dominator, my influence is lacking - why dont the other races like me mummy? Guess if they wont recognise my greatness by buying trinkets I'll just have to p
By far, this has been the most expensive single feature of Dark Avatar... And after 5 months of work... Already, more time has been spent on the Epic Generator than was spent on, for instance, the entire AI of GalCiv II or the entire combat system. I always knew it was going to be more complicated to pull off than it sound
Beta 1 is full of placeholder stats, from what Stardock have said they aren't looking for balancing issues in this build. Maybe next build?
1. Will there ever be more than 5 planets to each solar system? I have seen 1,2,3 etc. but never more than 5, any reason? 2. Is there any way to actually make the planets rotate around the sun? Stardock has done a great job being able to rotate the planets themselves and also the ships in orbit, but for a more realistic look and feel maybe the planets can rotate aro
I'm having trouble clicking on a mine when a space miner is in the same location, it always seems to select the ship so I can't look at the mine without moving the ship away. Minor but annoying.
If yhou dont have SDC (Stardock Central) you can get it from Stardock's main site.
Much like the tech trading option that was added, would it be possible to add an option to turn spies off? It might be worth adding that option for each of the main new features (turn off unique environments etc) as some of the changes are altering gameplay mssively and there are bound to be players who don't want massive change X but love ma
the whole espionage thing from galciv is gone. And there was much rejoicing!
The possible difficulty of too many 'Unique Colours' in the UI is acknowledged, and in that event a symbol change to a symbol - say an octangon, pentagon, whatever - with a suitable color fill would solve the problem. This could be backed up by a "mining completed at" notice on turn end (the latter being 'clickable' to take you there would be the icing on the cake). </
- Spies could disable buliding only for a period of time - for example max 10 turns and then they should automaticcly go back to the empire and rest 5 turns. That would add alot of micromanagement, if you had alot of spies you would be constantly reassigning them whereas now you just leave them until they either die or you decide to redeploy.<br/
Make sure the show pre-release versions check box is checked.
Ahh.. I still want only to pay for DA only at shop... Then you have a problem. Stardock aren't going for a standalone retail release as its so expensive and there are all sorts of timing issues to navigate through. Buying direct from Stardock for the CD to be mailed to you is no different from buying from Amazon or whoever. Unless you
That's a problem. There needs to be a way to do away with enemy agents without having to track ever single one of them down. That's a chore, it's not fun, and while some people will learn to "live" with the enemy agents, others will try to eliminate every last one of them, and they will find the process very annoying. Some sort of global counter-espionage fund would be the
Did you mean campaign? I thought that the campaign wasn't in the beta yet, because when I click the 'Campaign' on the main menu, there are no campaigns for me to choose. Did my install go wrong or something? Should I reinstall the beta? I suspect he's talking about the GC2 campaign there. I was under the impression that the Dread
So as it stands mining bases have no defences but it doesn't matter because they can't be attacked? Sounds odd, that means the only way you can knock them out is to culture flip them. This thing about the ships not being used up to upgrade doesn't sound right either, I imagine we'll see some changes here.
As mavx says, you're going to need to contact stardock sales. Word of advice though, don't give out email addresses any more than you have to its asking for trouble. Or spam email. does it matter to what email its attached? i mean its only about who controls the key right? or am i totally missing something. As the serial
Hi Im in the same boat with Seucher I preordered Dark Avatar a while ago and have the order number. So how do I now download this beta file? The only thing I see is the option to preorder. I looked over the email notice that I received and there are no links there either that apply to Dark Avatar. You should have recieved an email t
1. Install Smart Exception. If you get a crash follow the instructions and email the file to Stardock with as much detail as you can think of. This helps stardock to nail any stability issues. 2. If you see weird behaviour such as graphical weirdness or your treasury behaving oddly, then screenshot it and come to the forum to discuss it. Look for an existing thread about the same/very similar issue and post to there, if you can't find anything start a new thread. This is bug huntin
GC2 betas always appeared around 5.00pm stardock time (EST?) except for when someone cut through the server cables before Stardock could upload the final build. So I'm not expecting it until 10pm UK time, after that I'll be listening for the anguished screams echoing across the Atlantic when the office cat coughs a hair ball into the server casing. Then wait 20mins for Frogboy to leg it home to post an update as the entire SDC network keels over. For best effect watch events
I remember dreaming of the day I'd own a Voodoo 1.... By the time I got to buy an accelerator card (ahh the old lingo, rolls of the tongue) I was plugging in a voodoo 2. I remember my Voodoo 3 fondly, came in a cool box. Then the market got complicated. Anyway, I imagine you could pick up a new card that runs a newer version of directX for next to nothing that still works on your board.
Atari are camping on the XCOM liscense? Evil swines! I want UFO (first game) remade, it's still fun now despite the creaky UI, chunky movement and pixels. Oh for a modern technology version, I don't care if it isn't innovative its timeless! Gotta say though, I thought Society was closer to release than it sounds, still another 18 months before any sort of beta? I'm guessing the server issues have put things back a bit? It's definitely something to get right, EVE-Online has got to b
Err... Maybe because this is a board for GC2, and Sins (to some extent). Have you checked the boards for those other three games to see if anyone has expressed that opinion? Even if they havn't so what? KiRon may indeed agree with my decision to simply *never* preorder any game no matter what. Betas are great, though depending on your time, and the raw
