This is a side effect bug of the new 'set homeworld' fix in 1.2. Hopefully it will be sorted in a new patch shortly. That said please email [email protected] with the bug as the more of us that post the bug will mean we should get a fix faster GCII Moderator

Try firing an email off to [email protected] Include all the relevant details and they should be able to assist you. Alternatively go to the GCII IRC channel '#galciv' and speak to a good man there called Milksama (on there most days). If anyone can assist you he can! DG GCII Moderator
BTW i take it you have the game installed at the > \STARDOCK\Drengin.net\GalCiv2 location? If not you just need to point the update in the correct location. DG GCII Moderator
The easiest way is to installed via the Stardock Central program which is available for download from here > https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/ Once installed you will need to provide the program with your serial number and from that point on any new updates will show in the program and can be done via the easy to use interface. You cant. They are there for good unless you alter the raceconfig.xml. However if you do that your game will be inadmissible to the metaverse!
The base stats for the race are akways present and the custom race is the same.
Hopefully the expansion pack will sort this out for us all. My hope is that there are good 'negatives' for launching an espionage mission that fails. Maybe it could degrade your relationship with the AI in question. I dont believe it is neccessary to go straight to war if a mission fails but it should make your relationship suffer for it, maybe for 'X' turns or something. DG
All i do is build them and then leave them in the shipyards. May then 'ready' the defence platforms by launching them to low orbit in the path of the incoming adversary That or i just put 4 of them round the planet and keep them stocked with the best weapon/armour i have.
You can reply but not post in FF. However there will be a major some major changes to these forums over the next couple of weeks with the layout changing totaly. The new version should be much better and support both browsers. Keep an eye out for the changes, you should see them easily enough GCII Moderator

Had enough of the /error notifications Be nice just to be able to hit the 'create post' button nd it actually work!!! ***RANT OFF***
Goddam it would be REAL nice if we could post new threads people!!!!
One thing to note before you order the expansion pack is the fact that it will be available for d/l via TGN subscription as well, so those of you who have credits left will be able to use them to purchase the game via SDC. This came from the people that work on that side of the Stardock process as we chatted on IRC last night
Whilst i am not bothered about the cost of the expansion, i am concerned that the time frame for the expansion is too far in the future and by then a large amount of the people who purchased the game will have moved-on to new games. The big question here then is if those people that have moved on from the game can be moved into buying the expansion?, and will it have enough new features to make those of us who have moved on pay our $25 to start playing a game we will have probably pu
With the announcement that the new expansion pack will cost $30 i was wondering if any of you will pay for it? Also what are your hopes and expectatiobs for the expansion now we know a bit more about it? DG
Hmm, never thought of that before, bad me Must try that out in my next game! thanks a lot
K. Thanks
