Well its over 8 hours into 2009 here in England so Happy New Year to you all! Hope most of you dont wake up with too bad a hangover :D
AAR has now moved to new hosting site > http://galciv2guide.com
I know there is an updated wiki for TA as i have seen it in the past but i cant seem to find the link to it in the forums at the moment. Can some kind soul please let me know where to find it. Thanks! BTW i do not need the link to the old DL version as i have that :D
Thanks :) Feedback section now complete and main page redesigned slightly. Galciv2guide.com
March 2227 now available for your viewing pleasure.
20-30 second turn time? Wow! What processor are you using? I have a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz with 3gb of memory and it still takes over a minute on later turns in an immense galaxy. If you can turn around in 20 secinds with a few hundred ships etc then yo uhave a really good rig there!
I also love more planets to colonize and work with. I have found that in later parts of a game where you have 300+ planets it can take a couple of days to complete one turn, but on an epic game that is no real issue for me. As for keeping your planets defended, i tend to design a huge sensor platform that acts as an early warning to AI invasions allowing me to move a sector fleet into position in time. But in the end it does come down to patience
Feb 2227 now uploaded. Sorry for the wait people :D
I would have to agree with you on that point as from what i have seen there is little difference from v9 to v10 other than the base change in the upload code that seems to be causing issues around the web here and there. Had to go back to the drawing board for part of my site as it just would not work with the latest version .In the end i scrapped it and went for a java upload instead. Best of luck with trying to get it fixed though. Drengin
Ok i worked out a work-around which only took me an hour to work out! First uninstall the flash player from your system and then go to the flash player site and download version 9. Install that and you will have no problem uploading avatars etc. However as a fellow web developer i would have expected Stardock to have updated their software to accomodate the newer version 10 player. Hopefully this will not be long coming as having to use an older version just to
I managed to get a 50x50 on at wincustomize.com but please get this sorted guys.
Oh and its annoying. Yes i have tried with both IE and FF. Even tried Chrome too
Is this going to be fixed as i was able to remove my avatar but now cant get one uploaded!
Thank you! The Next 2 additions are done and awaiting upload. However they will be posted over at the new site: - http://galciv2guide.com
BTW if anyone would like to post their AAR over in the Guide forums i will happily link to it in the AAR section in the site so it is easily viewable by visitors. The site is designed to be a centre for AAR's so pulling in a few posters from here would be great and would mean your work would help add to a site that could end up being the place people will go to see how to play the game and what can be done. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Drengi
Yup that was one of the sections i was looking at. Should be ok now though as i just put the finishes to the first part of the initial AAR 'Christmas Times'. As for the strategies and topics.. Yup i could do a section on them easily enough for your content etc.. PM me over at the guides forum with your requirements.
Woot! I finally managed to get the welcome page completed (well maybe :D )
Avatar size is now 100x100 and a program such as paint.net will easily allow you to change your avatar size. > http://www.paint.net/
Speaking as someone who has been around since the old GC1 days i would say that GCI is definitely worth playing, but if you put them both together then there is so much difference it cannot be expressed in mere words. All i can say is that GCI is your old black and white 14" portable and GCII is your new 42" High Definition Plasma screen :D <img src="https://www.galciv2guide.com/wpimages/wp46310b88.png" a
Galciv2Guide.com If you have a love for all things GCII then this site is a must for you. We have a growing collection of mods, AAR's (After Action Reports), game details and newly designed chat forums for you to talk
Strange that only last night the exchange was working and now its not. Oh well i guess i wont be parting with my money then this weekend :(
To upload an avatar you need to open this site in IE, log in and click the 'My Account' button in the forums. From there you can upload your chosen avatar. BTW do not use FF to try this as the site upload for images does not work with it at present! Drengin
