And now I see that the transparency adjustments aren't saved in the skin directory, they're saved separately in C;\Users\Public\Public Documents\Stardock\WindowbBlinds\WBO\[SkinName].WBO. I don't know what else might be kept in that file. I'm going to have to go back and edit Reply 6, I don't want to leave it like that.

If you're talking about the "Change system colors" button on the colors page, changing those colors does indeed change the skin just as if you changed them within SkinStudio. You can actually change those colors in WBConfig and then open the skin up in SkinStudio and see that they've changed. A skin packaged at that point would include those color changes. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/7/9/709321/2551cf8c-4c3a-40a6-b6ec-a41f379dc651.jpg" alt="" width="863" heigh

I think I was wrong regarding the Saved Presets - looks like SkinStudio does include those when you package a skin as long as you've actually saved the preset ("manage presets" / "save current..."). I haven't played with this a whole lot, see what you think about it.

SkinStudio works with the skin itself, the WBConfig adjustments (overall color shifting, transparency, textures) are made in addition to that and SkinStudio doesn't package them.
So how are the final files being managed?
It sounds like you're wanting to make a .wba package out of the changed skin. In the menu in my first screenshot above, there is the command "Make wba package". I think that would do it, I've never messed with it, I just zip them up.
2. The second issue is, I need to find out if I can even legally do this (modify and re-release a skin)
No, not without written permission from the original author.
1. I don't know where SkinStudio 10 stored my changes?!?!
It modifies the extracted skin folder, C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\[Skin Name]. If you apply the skin in WBConfig, it should be changed. A couple of things:<

I haven't really checked it on WB11, but I think this still applies. 2 options: 1- Don't define an image, and it will use the System Colour ButtonDkShadow with a little bit of transparency. 2- Define an image in Window frames / UIS2 / Non captioned window edge. I had better luck using a bmp or a png/tga without any general transparency (maybe some on the corners), transparency seemed to cause some graphic remnants while mousing over. The default image co
I had no idea that the Windows Explorer font even could be changed, this makes me very happy.
I thought you might appreciate that little tidbit. [e digicons];)[/e] Otherwise I'm afraid I haven't spent a lot of time exploring the system fonts.

The only one that I've played with is System Icon Font because it also defines the font Windows Explorer uses for its windows. I (always?) have to go into WBConfig (don't even have to exit Skin Studio first) and apply a different skin, then switch back to the one I'm working on before the changes show. I think I may have to do that a couple of times sometimes. The system fonts can be stubborn.

I don't know all of the details, but a skin actually does or at least can use both sets of frames because some applications use the UIS frames. My ancient Excel2003 for example uses the per pixel frames for its main window and the UIS frames for the spreadsheet window when the spreadsheet isn't maximized within Excel. The majority of the frames you see (Explorer, etc.) are the per pixel frames. The UIS frames don't support transparency through the frames in the way the per
Gotta appreciate the classics with a dragon. Any particular one?
I was picturing a basic medieval dragon lying down, curled a little, with its head raised some and looking to the side. I also like a Chinese/Oriental snake style. I actually Googled "Types of Dragons", I had no idea there were so many.

Most frequent would have to be Start11, it's "Always". Also "Always" is either WB or Curtains. "Why" for all three is the same - No matter what the default Win O/S looks like, I'll get tired of looking at it. DeskScapes is close behind, it's just plain fun. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Sometimes there are issue caused by the applied skin. Try removing all the skin. Keep wba files backed up some where. Just install WB with its supplied skin. If that work. Install the WBA one at a time until you found the bad one.
I think I can suggest a more direct way to see which skin it's trying to load. At the login screen, hold down the [Control] button while pressing [Enter] after entering the passwor
Update - I found a buried "Restore default font settings" button that seems to have fixed the font issue: Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Fonts\Font settings.
Any suggestions out there?
Keeping in mind that it's not supported on Win10, there is a trouble-shooting section within Object Dock you can play with to see if anything helps, picture here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1345159218/Backup%2Frestore+my+dock+settings There is also a note regarding 64bit apps, you can see if that's relevant:

Hi Jerome I did report that to them when you and I were looking at your skin earlier. It was their Beta 2 feedback thread, Replies 43 and 44: https://forums.wincustomize.com/515260/page/2/#replies The rule for issue reporting is "Once is enough". Hopefully they'll get it fixed before too much longer.
