Yeah just a bit, god forbid you ever have to delete your own local profile - bye bye mods :( Maybe they'll move the mod location to somewhere more logical and central.

Do start > run type in: eventvwr That'll bring up, the event viewer, down the left hand side depending on your operating system it'll show application/system/security. It'll be under either application or system depending on what caused the issue, so get the time that it ctd'd and look it up. It might say something useful about a driver, or it may just do what it always does and tell you "sins.exe exitted" :(

If you want to at least try to not spend any money, you could try unticking the "Use colour skybox" and "Use deep colour skybox" options under the effects menu, at least I think that's what they are called - maybe turning all the ship/planet detail down a notch on each. Also, if you are running Vista in Aero mode, turn that memory hogging feature off for starters - If the game runs on your card, it's a shame - and really weird that it's only the skyboxes affected

Noice, it's a shame the game doesn't work on a fear basis. One thing I don't like is that when i send in a fleet of 4 gazillion battleships, and 1 colony ship - the entire npc fleet will focus fire on my colony ship....instead of the impending death slowly cruising towards them!

Best to contact stardock directly, are you sure it charged your paypal account? - You could phone PayPal and get them to confirm, could be anything really - Problem with your CC, the Stardock system, some unpassed value in your signup. PayPal will be able to tell you if it's a problem with Stardock or your account/cc etc, but beyond that - it's an internal error so the best I can offer is the email address for stardock support :)

So just to clarify, you launch the game - get past the menu, start a new (solo/network/ico) game, 2-3 minutes later it just ctd's? (crashes to desktop) No errors or anything, haven't installed "anything" over the last day or so? Might be an idea to check your application event logs in the eventvwr (event viewer) to see if it shows any errors regarding that app, flagged with a yellow/red marker

wow, I never thought about it that way before - When I jump into a system I focus fire on everything, too much C&C play! Shame there isn't a scatter fire/selective targets option, so you can send in a large fleet of ships and let them free-for-all, or at least set the amount of targets they should attack between them...

By dodgy drivers, I mean they may be so far out of date they aren't compatible for the game - When you load up a game, we can see the BG is completly, destroyed - but if you zoom in on an object like your frigate/capital factory - if you spin or rotate the camera around it, does it move smoothly or does it shudder/jerk/lag ?

Yeah, so for example on a tiny scale Your ship has 3.0 shield hp left Someone fires at you with a weapon that "would" do 3.0 damage, but you have 50% shield mitigation, so it does 50% damage. There must be some sort of level guage for the mitigation levels, so says - Okay, after you've taken a cumulative set of 500.0 hp damage points to your shield, increase mitigation by 6% or something - Advent at least have a few sheild mit' skills that I've seen, highest I've ever

True, but it may be one of two things: A pants card running vista + the game or a good card running vista + the game, but dodgy drivers/broken card...too many choices!

Have a look at the advanced settings under the display properties, it should tell you how much video card memory you have (let us know if you are running vista as this'll add even more to that value). It should say the PCI bus speed, model number, make, driver version etc etc!

When you do a "show mod path" ingame - Does it tell you it's under that folder? (It should be) - But it won't show you something that doesn't exist, you may be under the wrong folder tree...specifically "AppData", it's easy to go into the first appdata folder, instead of 'local settings\app data'

It can attack anywhere, no matter how far it is. Takes about 30-60 seconds to turn 180 degrees. And from what I noticed, once it fires every 1 minute or so it'll do 1% allegiance damage to the planet it hits, if you have more than a few in a sector - just set them all to auto fire, as they'll bombard any planet that is isn't yours! I played my brother on my LAN the otherday, built one in my home sector on a 150+ planet map, and was able to hit a planetm in his home wor

Vista 32bit, GeForce FX7900 (512mb) - The game runs fine, apart from when I zoom in on battle - in which case it'll randomly freeze for about a minute, then recover "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Then it'll carry on, up to date drivers - no other issues anywhere else...
