Mark Mathis sort of shot the movie in the foot when he refused to let PZ Myers into the film where he (Mathis) would be answering questions later. He pretended that it was because Myers wasn't invited, but the invites were sent out via Internet. Richard dawkins got in as a "guest" under Myers name. Guests didn't show on the list. Now why would Mathis not want Myers there when he was thanked at the end of the film? <

Time to drop the other shoe. Conversations with God by yours truly
"What? You didn't think about it at all?" "Well, no. I mean, I did...but it seemed like everything was already written out. I was told we just had to believe and everything would be cool." "Well it is, in a way. I mean I don't mind you believing in me, but do you have any idea *how* cool life is? I know I saw a lot of people try to describe it to you..."
I can prove my faith better than anyone can prove anything else.
No one has any doubts about your faith - you make that clear with every unfounded argument you make. You'd HAVE to have the most outstanding faith to believe the things you believe. Well awesome. You're bound to get good seats at the Apocaplyse while us heathens get chucked one by one into the eternal fire. Make sure to bring your camera and som
Likewise, where did the big bang come from? It couldn't have just happened, and neither could whatever caused it.
Different suggestions have been made. One answer to the infiniteness question is a cyclical universe that goes from big bang to big contraction, but scientists have shown that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. A subsequent contraction is unlikely. What is significant about that? If scientists h
what's your high score in Pac-man, Tova? You can express that in terms of what board you got up to. Points wasn't the marker in pac-man. Number of keys was...at least back in the day when I spent valuable class time in an arcade. I got up to 18 keys once.
So a guy walked in to this den of lions, see? And he said, "Now look you lions. Here's the way you should behave while in the den." And 10 seconds later one of the lions says "Burp." The moral of the story is "burp"...oh excuse me.
The costs of video games for us too easily amused.
My babelfish is definitely on the fritz.
Heh. I was going to answer some of this, but why bother? I am curious, though. What is "hard bitten?"
I only ever liked the tattos...those were SWEET!
That's what I always hoped to get, too. Though it was usually some uselss plastic something.
I used to dip popcorn in karo syrup...beat that!
Ok, I'll try. A friend convinced me that a sandwich made of butter and sugar was good. It was...for a while :)
I liked the peanuts in the bottom
The peanuts were my favorite, too. I had no use for the caramel popcorn whatsoever.
I am not a huge crackerjack fan, but I have bought cereal (at the boys' insistence) JUST for the crappy 2 cent prize in the box.
Hehe. And did they then dig to the bottom without eating the cereal and make the box all bowed out? I'll raise my hand again.
Actually, I totally blew a great opportunity to mesh Mitch with Matresses! So, here it is:
I got a king sized bed. I don't know any kings, but I guess if one came over, he'd be comfortable. "Oh, you're a king, you say? Well you won't believe what I have in store for you! It's to your exact specifications!" When I was a boy I laid in my twin sized bed wondering where my brother was.
So as not to be totally off topic, I'll say go with memory foam! Now, that said, I can profess my love for Mitch Hedberg, RIP. Another great comic gone way too early. In tribute: From "Mitch All Together"
Audience applauds, hoots, and hollers as Mitch comes on stage "Thank you thank you. Thank you. Have they told you enough that we're recording a CD? yeah ...so you could pick it up
Now I hope this gets some sort of wide dissemination, and I hope everyone that sees this answers and answers honestly. It's a poll of sorts. Who here ever wanted Crackerjacks or bought Crackerjacks solely for the prize at the bottom. Raise your hand. *OckhamsRazor raises his hand*
At least...until I publish my book of "Zoo's Kickass Sayings."
Mari and I both want a signed copy.
Can't write it OR recognize it, in my opinion.
It's quite valid based turning your own scenario and
My babelfish just conked out.
If we had no free will, we could not be fellowship to Him.
I don't know if this was directed at my last comment, but just in case - I'm not arguing against free will. I'm saying that Christians say that because man has free will, then man is responsible for his choices. They use this entirely fallacious argument to absolve God of the responsibility of man's choices, but they never reach back far enough to ask "Ok, so who gave man a free will?"
If the angels and Adam and Eve screwed up...guess who created them?
I went down this road with them once or twice, TW. They will not admit that being First Cause bears any kind of responsibility. Free Will is the tool they use to absolve God of responsibility while failing to recognize (or refusing to) where that free will came from.
As a side note, BSOD's were originally caused by a TRS-80 who couldn't follow simple 8-bit instructions.
If scientists got the computer right, why is there a blue screen of death?
Because all computers have a BSOD once in a while. It isn't about whether or not the computer will have a BSOD - that's a given - it's whether or not they believe that the repairman will fix them that matters. ;)
Matter cannot come from nothing. God is not matter.
How do you know that for sure? I just quoted what the OP said. He said "nothing" aka "no thing." If God exists, then God is an object of some sort aka a THING, which makes him a subset of all things to which the words "no thing" or "nothing" applies. If he is not an object of some sort then he cannot be distinguished in any rational way. If he ca
I'm not reading all of this. At a probability of about 99%, I've already read it in other threads. But I am going to comment on one thing I saw. ParaTed2k:
That way, you can decide for yourself based on actual facts, not half truths and people who cut quotes short because the rest of the verse doesn't fit their propaganda.
Bravo, Ted.
On second thought, I probably do.
Basically, nothing can come from nothing, without an outside force.
Sense is anything but common. Like music is composed of sound and silence, so the universe is composed of matter and space. I can find no reason why all the matter in the universe would suddenly pop out of existence, so I'm going to say that "common sense" would suggest it will always be here until forcibly removed with his noodly appendage by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. At any rate, Lula - that's a swing and a miss. The premise is that Thing X cannot exist without a cause.
