Aldar, the last game you submitted, accoring to your profile, was on 8/13 and it has 50K+ points. If your current game is zero, it was not accepted by the metavers. Try replaying the last turn and resubmit.
by Veteran Aldar - 9/3/2004 1:08:39 PM Help!
Aldar, Load up the endsavegame and go to stats. Look for the Planet Quality metric in the upper left had group of metrics and see if the value for that metric is over 40%. If it is, than you have an anomolus score and will get zero points. If it is not, then send CariElf the endsavegame and ask her to help you find out why if submitted as zero points.
Well I am quite lucky because I speak alittle English, but many others are not, and its almost impossible to find a German board where you could ask questions...
Icho will answer your questions in German - he is a German speaking player of the game.
Oh, I meant 'you' plural. I have no particular grudge against you personally. When I finally crush you, it will mean no more to me than were I to step on an ant. I hope this is of some comfort to you.
Must be a Yor decendant. :D LOL :D
You can go to 40% actually. But I've read that you can surpass that as long as it comes from anomalies.
No, no, no. The PQ limit is in the Stats area call Planet Quality. This is the element that must remain below 40%. Any anomoly or improvment, etc. can build up the Planet Quality metric. Mods can build it up faster. I have played with mods that have pushed it up to 35% with individual planet PQ up to 120.
Does anyone deliberately submit losses to the metaverse just to earn the "wounded in action" medal?
Check me out. I did just to get the metal. :D
It can get confusing, but this page of littlewotts solves everything
Ask littlewatts to give you a pointer to the private metals that the Guradians get and what they mean. That way he will have unsolved everything for you? :D LOL :D LOL :D
who's score is just a tiny little speck compared the people at the top
My score was once a tiny speck compared to the people at the top also. Nothing is stopping you from fighting your way to the top. Enough people quite playing and most are static scores at this point. Your way up is limited to chasing fire hydrants and they don't move very fast. You don't even have to play masso games to get there as GH, Newfy, and others will tell you. In fact recently, some peopl
Oh darn, I forgot all about that thread! I'm sorry I did not, and would not wan't the metaverse reset to zero. Your right Weyrleader that would be wrong to do that, and I'm sorry I didn't think about what I was saying, like I said I'm just a stupid newb and my input probably doesn't matter.
:D LOL :D LOL :D
I agree with that, Desert Fox, I think we should all take this into consideration. I know I'm just a newb who doesn't know anything, who's score is just a tiny little speck compared the people at the top, but I think it's a good idea.
Why do both of you want to penelize those who have played well for a long period of time? It is not an even playing field by resetting to zero. What will happen is fewer will play. If that is the objective, then be honest about it. Why n
Planet Quality does not affect the population cap. Poplulation on a planet is affected by morale. It may not be possible to get to the pop cap because the morale is low.
Yes, but morale is affected by PQ, I think. That is everytime in the start up game period, when I increase the planet PQ by soil enrichment, etc., the morality goes form 50-70 up to 100.
Is this the same for all planets (some of them are smaller and some of them are bigger)?
Same for all - some of course may never get their because they don't have a big enough PQ, etc., but the max is the same for all - physical size is a visulization only issue as far as I can tell.
I am pretty sure that the max population is 100,000.
Maximum is 200B
However, the minors are your friends. You can trade with them, use them for proxy attacks and build them up and no worries about them winning the game themselves.
And when they quit researching techs because they are being picked on, they make good planets to take over.
As I can't see (can't spot that itsa effected anyone else... i'm probably wrong... again)
J.T., others have also seen recent drops. Icho dropped 10K points, but Major Dallas did not, hence MD rose in the ranksings without submitting a game since 16 June. Theoden has seen a drop, Naqmire recently droped about 10K. So, as usual, some see it and some don't.
Is this supposed to be installed in the exact same directory as GalCiv or in it's own directory?
It installes in its own directory, but in the same subdirector as GalCiv, usually under Drengin.net, which itself is under Stardock, so the path for each is Stardock/Drengin.net/AlterianProphecy and Stardock/Drengin.net/GalCiv
Good feedback
Thank you, please let us know if you would like us to formulate a formal proposal that includes the best of these and we will see if we can reach consensus. cheers, Weyrleader
I think the discussion so far has generally been positive. Good points being made by experienced players from their point of view and how they would like to see the game played. Of course, everyone plays the game differently, as is true with almost all games. Sometimes they are played in ways not foreseen by the maker/designer of the game. This is not a weakness, but a relfection of the creativity of the players as a whole as insights are shared on what works well and what doesn't. Without
For instance, the Yor are extremely annoying at all times!
That's why the Guardian empire focuses on destroying the Yor for toasters and spare parts. :D LOL :D
Dear Stardock (Frogboy, CariElf, others), I have been collecting ideas and suggestions on how to improve the Metaverse. You have probably seen some of the dissatisfaction with the current Metaverse in various postings from newbys to oldies. We hereby implore you to ask for and take into consideration ideas that many will put forth as ways to make it better, to bring greater satisfaction to both those just starting out and those who have played for over a year and would like to continue, bu
If so, then theres no reason to play Gal Civ 1.21 right? Thanks for info.
You have to have GC 1.21 loaded in addtion to AP to play AP. I think this is correct.
I have them all in the mods folder..
TrekE, when you open the Mod folder, there are subfolders. Most of the mods go into the data subfolder. Political parties graphics go in the Gfx subfolder and political parties subsubfolder. But, in general, events, ships, etc. go in the data subfolder under the Mods folder. Is this where you put them?
ATI Mach64 with 4MB of memory.
I saw on the notes of Stardock when you click on the program line that it requires video card with at least 16MB of memory, so this is probably my problem. I loaded it on another machine that meets that requirement and it works find. Lost my first game. :sniff!:
