I agree with Jafo. If your computer works don't mess around with the bios settings unless you really know what you're doing. And I am not sure that System Restore covers changes to your bios. I would just live with out the bootscreen and get a nice logon screen. Just don't turn on your monitor until you are sure your computer has loaded to the logon screen and you will never have to see the "not so ugly" windows xp default boot screen. its your ram. i have 512megs( i hope you mean 256megs. my 386 has 612k ram alot more then your 256k and its 12 yrs old) . I notice a slight slowdown, but that is because the more ram you have the more windows takes. My processor is 2.4 also and cursorxp seems to be inconsequential to the major memory hogs Objectdock and desktopx. I would just suggest to go buy 256 or more ram, its cheap. 0bject

no I don't have any of those (I never really got into that sort of thing) . No there isn't anything else to download. Just install bootskin and in the start menu in programs in wincustomize there should be a link to the bootskin program. Run it, choose a skin other then the normal then restart and see if it works. <B

All right this might seem extreme, but here it goes. Uninstall boot xp, next uninstall bootskin, logon studio, and any other stardock product. restart. Redownload bootskin, install it, choose a skin, and restart to see if it works. Try it and see if it works.
