In the interest of presenting more at-a-glance information to the player and reducing the number of clicks needed to figure things out, I'd like to see the HUD expanded upon in a few ways. 1. An indicator on settlements that are idle (could be building or training but aren't). 2. An indicator on the player's units/stacks that have moves available or are not at full HP. 3. An indicator on enemy units/stacks showing how threatening they are (i.e. is that just a spider dr

Long-term spells could require some sort of "spell slot" for their upkeep, so they don't affect mana beyond the initial casting cost. This would cut instant effect spells out of any micromanaging, and make it so the player can tell how many long-term spells they can have active at a glance, without the need to do any math regarding mana regeneration. Nothing I've done has gotten the process past this alloc.txt file, and I'm not too keen on uninstalling SDC, so I'll just wait and hope a future version of SDC fixes this problem. Thanks for the help guys.
I deleted everything in the /temp folder and tried again but ran into the same problem. I also noticed something else weird: when it gets to alloc.txt, SDC suddenly takes up every spare CPU cycle, slowing my computer to a crawl, and my antivirus program also starts acting up. That's happened three times so far, so it's obviously connected. I'll try disabling my antivirus and deleting that 0kb file before uninstalling all of SDC.
I'm running ver 2.00.293 build 58 of SDC. The .log file has been sent as requested. I'll try what you suggested and report back later. I should also mention that this is the only game I'm having installation trouble with; everything else installed perfectly.
Every time I try to install ORB, the process hangs on alloc.txt. Stardock Central still works normally, it just never gets past unpacking this file. I also downloaded an archive of the game and tried restoring that, but Stardock Central started to download the game again. If it's any help, I looked around the Stardock/Temp directory to find the file and noticed two versions of it in the same place, "alloc.txt" at 0kb, and "alloc.txt_" at 1k
