Hmmm. Well, I restarted the machine later in the day and then reloaded SD Central. It downloaded another patch and then the other programs installed fine. And my cursor works properly too. Interesting...
Couple things...this app (Stardock Central) has recently somewhat unstable...Its crashed on me a couple of times just today after downloading a slew of updates. Usually happens when I select a menu item. Last crash came when i selected the "WC-General" button out of the "Discussion" menu superordinate. I also note that my cursor disappears inside of the text editing window as I'm writing this. Also, updates for a couple of apps (Skin Studio Pro and Theme Manager) won't complete, citing
