I knew that my old Ford Escort needed some service. I brought it into a shop, and heard the news that I would have to pay several hundreds of dollars to get everything in order. Wow... I was willing to pay to have my old car fixed up. My wife, on the other hand, suggested that I get a new car. I was a little surprised. I really hadn't considered getting a new one. I called

I think that all of you are too focused on the negatives. I think that President Bush is extremely capable of galvanizing support against America and American interests. He may be a divisive force domestically, but he has gone a long way toward uniting the world. (It is kind of embarassing however that he draws such protests wherever he goes.)

I heard that they're giving serious consideration to replacing Rather with Gilbert Gottfried.
Apparently on the day after Thanksgiving, stores open early and there are all sorts of bargains for the early birds. I don't have any firsthand knowledge of this, because I am usually not a person who is likely to be found during a busy "shopping day." Generally I like to get all of my shopping done at one place (like a Target or
St. George I didn't even know he was Catholic... But seriously, it is really surprising that there's a double standard? Stuff like this happens all of the time. Somebody is liable to profit by producing nuclear weapons, and then inject that money into the ploitical system. That's the
So we are beginning preparations for Thanksgiving dinner. The first dish done was the cranberry sauce. I bought a few bags of cranberries yesterday, grabbed the "Betty Crocker Cookbook", and had at it! (Making a double batch) I boiled 4 cups of water, and 3 cups of sugar. Once the water was sufficiently boiling, I added 8 c
Can we put that label on stuff over here?
As a rule: I don't care for poetry. That said, I like this one. It is nice and ironic.
Hey there friends! I hope that all of you are having a nice day/evening. Today my wife, my son, and I had a nice day. We drove down to the Minnesota Zoo. We wanted to take baby Kenny to see the animals. The zoo was pretty empty because of the cold weather and the beginning of the shopping season. It was a fantastic time to be there because it was
Unasked for advice from me...Keep the toilet lid down, head first fall in is all to common. Normally I do, but just in case: the water level is really low. The worst he could do in a head-first fall is get his scalp wet. (I think it would be physically impossible to get one's face in the water in there.)
This morning it was my turn to take baby Kenny to daycare. Like always, I left him in the living room to watch "Oswald" on the Noggin Channel while I take a quick shower. He usually plays really nicely and doesn't cause trouble when "Oswald" is on. Today I got my surprise. When I stepped out of the shower, Kenny was there splashing in the toilet. He had also pulled a lot of the toilet paper off of the roll. (He was so quiet! I didn't eve
Baby Kenny had his first birthday party today. Great-grandma, Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Chialing all came to visit to help Kenny celebrate. Kenny received lots of nice presents, we had yummy food (curry rice), and cakes. Kenny's mom did a really good job preparing everything. Before we all ate, Kenny opened his presents and played with some of the
Last year at this time, my wife and I had the chance to welcome baby Kenny into the world. He is one year-old today. Happy Birthday Kenny. Tomorrow we will have a small birthday party for him. Just grandma and grandpa, great grandma, and my friend Andy and his wife. It seems that the theme will be "Elmo," as he really seems to have an affinity for Elmo. We got some cool birthday presents for Kenny too. Daddy got him a Sit-and-Spin. Mommy and Daddy
you need to give Dropping Daylight some time Uh, sure... Maybe not during "sweeps" though.
Bon Jovi Yeah, "Dead or Alive" at least deserves a spot on this list. I have however kind of soured on Bon Jovi. Seeing them with Skid Row in 1988 was one of the coolest concerts I had ever been too. Then my wife and I went to go see them in 2001 (in a dome nonetheless), and they were boring at best. The most recent m
It sure is nice to get those political signs down. They really "ugly up" the neighborhood. Now we've got to wait until people replace their cars so that we won't have to see ghastly bumper stickers either.
Wrestling is GAY Should I give that an "insightful"?
Spike Jonze He did that Beastie Boyz video, didn't he? Yeah, what about "Buddy Holly" by Weezer. That may be one of my favorite videos.
I liked when they had the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" on Beavis and Butthead. That was a riot. Regardless of that, I tend to doubt the validity of these results.
I have been writing this weblog for over a year, and this is the second or third article I have written about pro wrestling. As I was writing the title and classifying this article I was thinking to myself: "Is 'Sports Entertainment' 'Sports' or 'Entertainment'?" This time I went with "Entertainment." Maybe next time I will go with "Sports." For any of you who follow wrestling closely, you may know that the WWE just cut ten of its wrestlers. Among the character
The title of this article contains one of my pet-peeves: using an apostrophe-s combination to make a noun plural. It isn't "DaVinci's." It is "DaVincis" One day Leonardo was hard at work. Sudedenly the phone rang. It was his mother. She was going to stop by to see her son who spends so much time alone in his office "doing art." Soon after the phone call, Leonardo's cousin and uncle stopped by after a long day of shopping on the town. Mr
We live in Monticello, Minnesota. Last night my wife received a call from out friend Chialing. Chialing was so excited. Even though I was about five meters away from my wife, I could hear Chialing's voice on the phone: "Go outside! Look up in the sky!" We went outside, and we were lucky enough to get a really good view of the Aurora (the Northern Lights.) Every once-in-a-while they shine down over Minnesota, but they usually aren't as bright as
George Bush was re-elected because he was able to energize his base. I think that Hillary has the same capacity to energize her base. So I am thinking that if Hillary gets nominated, we'll have another election year of divisive politics. I think that Hillary would have less of a chance to win against a moderate Republican than against a hardliner. Of course we'd have to imagine the Republicans nominating a moderate. I doubt that'll happen.
I enjoyed your list (but how can you throw the Ryche and Tesla in with those other hair bands????? Well, these two bands were overplayed at about the time that the genre fell off the map. Not necessarily a knock on them as much as it is a knock against the fact that they were overplayed. Europe's "Carrie" may be as objectionable of a pick as "When
