Every once-in-a-while I run into parents who see their children as a burden. That is part of my job as an elementary school teacher. But I would have to gladly state that almost all of my students have the loving support of both of their parents. I am pretty happy with how my immigrant families stay intact and support their kids!

Is it really Kenny's foot? It looks big at his age. It looks big because I took the picture from a short distance. ...... I hope that Kenny has lots of chances to come to Japan. He is super-popular there as a baby! People even took pictures of him when we went out. We'll go to Japan again either next year, or the year after that.
Kenny likes a lot of Japanese stories and television shows. It will be hard for us to get him to be completely fluent and literate in Japanese, but we can get him to be functionally literate in Japanese (if possible!) We don't want to pressure him toomuch, so he can make his own choices. He'll just have a jump on Japanese.
