I am an Object Desktop subscriber, but have never seen anything (in my profile or in any emails received over the years) about beta versions being offered. How does it work or how is it supposed to?
If there are any Beta's available this is how you will see them. Open Object Desktop Manager. Click the gear in the upper right corner. Click Show beta Downloads. &n
How does one get "insider preview build 10525" that's mentioned somewhere in this WindowBlinds thread" (and, for that matter, how does one get on the list for any insider previews)? I'm keen to help Stardock test WindowBlinds for Windows 10 so as the help get it released earlier rather than later. It's the only non-Microsoft product in my "must have" list that is holding me back from upgrading to Windows 10.<br

Wait, forget that, I forgot how much companies would like to be Apple these days...
Microsoft does not support skinning there OS. If

With the release of the new insider preview build 10525 yesterday which is a build that is buggy as hell and has GUI changing features..... Build 10525 offers a couple of changes, but the biggest addition by far is the introduction of updated color options. If you want to change the default color for Start, Action Center, Taskbar, and Title bars, you can now do so easily. The new feature is potentially buggy, and disabled by default, but you can toggle it on by going to Settings >

After going back and forth between Windows 7 & Windows 8 the last couple months. I have given up on Windows 8 till a service pack lands and fixes some annoying bugs. I blew away my desktop and when i went and reinstalled Windowsblinds (Object Desktop). It told me i reached maximum activations. Could you reset the counter for me please. I created a ticket for this 2 days ago as well <span style="font-family: 'Candara'
I assume when you purchased your subscription the current operating system was Windows 7. The software you purchased continues to work on that platform and over time we are adding in support where required for Windows 8.
Can I suspend my subscription till the time you actually support Windows 8 with Windows Blinds? I have not been able to use 95% (Only Start 8 & Fences) of the features sinc

Hopefully they move faster with the next one. If it mirrors the timeline for this released beta and the original beta drop then it will be Nov-Dec.
anarkys, I.D. has promised to try to get some sort of time line. Yes, the spingtime thing was promised and you're right... it didn't appear as promised. I'm disappointed too. But realistically SD will put effort where money is: Remember why Willy Sutton robbed banks/ Why don't we give him a chance? I invested, just as you did and bought one as a gift for a friend... I suggest we give it a rest for a few days...let the man try to hel
Quoting anarkys, reply 15 Would you release a paid preview of your next generation software that was missing many features of your current version, had tons of known bugs and then make everyone wait 5-6+ months for an update? In a word, No. But, as I said elsewhere, businesswise it was a very smart move as it commited users to ObjectDock - with a high potential for seriou
Ok, in Stardock's defense, keep in mind Winstep is also a company smaller than Stardock, whose sole focus is Desktop Customization, and with a much smaller product portfollio. Even then, sometimes I also have trouble keeping up with support when I'm really busy finishing a new release, for instance. At times like those, all your attention and energy go into finishing that release and everything else becomes a 'distraction'
OD 2 is missing all it's functionality besides that 'pay for preview' marketing catastrophe. Works fine for me and all I can say about the marketing ""catastrophe"" comment is (picture of wine and cheese).
There is no need to call us whiners. I however am going to stand fast here and add the statement I made in a previous thread. SD has problems with software development and manpower.
As with so many issues, Wiz.... you and I see eye to eye. That's why WinstepExtreme is so attractive.... The dev is support, and he's a hell of a nice guy. The support folks at SD are as well...I just think they are swamped due to the issues you brought up and I just see them getting more and more burdened as issues develop due to not solving the 'old' problems. I hope I'm wrong.
I am also eyeballing WinstepExtreme and Nexus heavily.
We anticipate the ObjectDock 2 beta going well through Summer and into Fall with beta 2 in the Summer and Beta 3 during the fall.
I asked in another thread in this same forum a week ago if this was still on track. I also linked to a thread where you stated a spring bug release would probably be put out. It's the middle of summer and nothing yet. Just looking for some developer feedback.

I am curious if we will be getting a updated beta / patch to objectdock soon. I was expecting a spring update per what was posted in another thread and that slipped. I just wanna see if the summer patch is still on schedule. https://forums.stardock.com/381975
The next public beta drop won't be until S

Actually this is exactly the information I was looking for. I am a lot more sympathetic and understand completely now why things are moving slower then you guys would like. Information is king with me. Thank you for sharing this with us. Why it doesn't make me happy from a consumer stand point as an IT Admin I completely understand.

I stand corrected. I was counting months not weeks. We still have issues that need to be addressed. I love the new features of OD 2.0 but overall I feel this was an alpha release. Old features missing with no explanation why. No news on updates when asked several times in this thread. All we are asking for is news on a product we like and want to support other then we have no further information or no idea when we will address these issues.
Understood, but is it at least being actively worked on? Or has poor JB been moved back on Impulse again? I don't have the information you seek. I can tell you that Jeff is always busy with multiple projects, though. That doesn't mean he isn't going to set aside time for working on OD+ 2 in the future. When specifically, though, I don't know.
