Pure gameplay experience feedback: Somehow, I didn't get the correct impressions of the victory conditions from the mission descriptions. On both scenarios 1&2 (after hearing about 3, I'm taking a normal game break ;)) I was rather stunned to be suddenly booted to the "you won" screen. It felt kinda cheap, as nothing significant had happened for several turns in both games, I didn't feel I was doing all that well, was just waiting for some socials to build, then BAM! I win. <b

Cari, what did you do to the Kwilisan's code? In 15 out of 15 games before I updated, each time they degenerated into the I-League. In my last two, post patch, they've stayed their poop-eating selves. They just sit there on their huge worlds, with bumper to bumper starfighters and corvettes in orbit. Also, the "richest civs" survey isn't reporting them correctly. They had 14,000-17,000 GCs in the bank both entire games, and only sporadically would they appear as the richest civ. I chec
Where is the changelog for the update posted?
Hi Does anyone have sufficient GC math to be able to tell me what the overpopulation curve looks like per PQ? In simplest terms, when should I start dumping population on a PQ 15, 16, ... 32? I realize that my morale modifiers will, um, modify this, so I guess a handfull of "Well, I tend to notice problems around X pop" rule-of-thumbs would actually be more helpfull than having to look at 3 charts and do 10 min of precalculus every game turn. Thanks for the
The closest game I can think of to SF2, in game style and enjoyment factor, is Star Control 2. Terrific top-down explore-the-universe, trick-out-your-ship, solve-the-mystery/save-the-universe game. They ported the 3DO port of the PC original back to the PC just recently as freeware, called The Ur-Quan Masters. I beta'd it, it was a blast. It seems a better game by comparison today then when it was released back in the mid 90s, but then again I have a soft spot for gameplay over graphics.
Weird stuff so far: Auto-survey is wacky, similar to above posts. AI building double-starbases next to resources, and building up the wrong one, as per above posts. I can't stay evil! Loading from save-game set me back to neutral twice... I went evil from scripting events, not from planetary ones. Non-repeating once I deliberately went out and colonized a few p12s and took the bonuses. After using the ctrlB "build battleship" cheat, then gifting it to the tor
"Morale is one of the super-important stats, like population, that's listed on the right hand side of the screen when you just click on the planet" Oh wow, I feel dumb. I'd been digging around in the "details" tab trying to find it... I'm definately going to try the Quantity (of taxpayers) over Quality (BCs per capita) next game. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before... Now maybe I'll stand a chance against non-idiot AI :notsure:
Hi, total n00b here. I hear references in various people's strats about keeping morale at 100% to keep up with the AI's population growth. Now, I admit I tend to be a bit of an infrastructure-head, but I have enough problems keeping my empire in the black w/taxation, and I try to keep approval around 60% so I don't lose the senate. Uh, approval and "morale" are one and the same, correct? And poplulation growth is the only bonus that high morale gives, right? I'm not missing ou
