As someone else pointed out, GC2 was released after Christmas and that hasn't hurt it's sales one bit. I agree. When i have to choose between extra features or pre Christmas release, i would take the extra features any day.

In my last game the Drath were the thoughest enemy. And that was a surprise because in my other games they had rather small empires. The Drengin are always quite strong in my games.

But what kind of relatioins i must have close maybe or friendly maybe! You must be on very good terms with that particular race. I am quite sure that you need to be "close" & and also have the alliance tech.

Oh, and Pirvateer only protects the route, not the freighter. In my last game I had Galactic Privateer. I was at war with the Drath and later the Torians. During all that time they never destroyed my trade route freighters. Only those of my ally the Arceans where being attacked.

I had this event once. The Korx leader Kralax of Korx(?) got assasinated during a deal one of my companies made with the Korx. Suddenly we were at war and the Korx had a bunch of ships with the name "Vengeance" (low level ships). They also had a new leader Azurelas or something like that.

In my games the ai does form alliances. Mostly the good races band together. In my last game for example the Torians, Drath & Iconians formed an alliance. I was allied with the Arceans. So suddenly i was asked to declare war on the Torians because they attacked the Arceans. Next round the Iconians & Drath declared war on me. But only then did i find out that the Arceans initiated the whole thing because they attacked the Iconians. In the end i conquered the Drath , Torians, Korx & Iconians -> Di

Well, i have compared your debug.err to mine and the big difference is the omega driver you use. Are you sure that other drivers don't work? Well i also run GC II on a Laptop (Intel PM760 with 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM & X600 128mb). I have no performance issues and run the game on max settings. So dau, i would advise you to update all drivers and post the debug.err file. Also disabling the integrated wlan (if you have one) gives a performance boost. Hope this helps

So yeah the ship details list weapons that aren't used I experienced the same. In the details list the ranger was armed with quantum drivers, photonic torpedos, armor & missile defense. But it only had a Massdriver and Armor rating.
