I'm getting ready to upgrade to win7 (home) and will be adding cs4 extended, dropping paintshoppro 7 and 10. any words of caution or bumps in the road that I need to be aware of in general or specific to this site? side question: I have wb7 installed but the advisor printout indicates version 6.4?

I never noticed this before but it appears that you can rate a skin more than once. I rated a skin today than saw by the posts that I had rated it before (guess it was resubmitted). I was under the impression that you couldn't do this but this could lead to some abuse.
I've had a little time to think about this and I'm sort of torn between expanding the rating system, increasing the number of starts to equal the rating values, and doing something radically different. the radically different aspect would be to drop the rating system and the number of downloads altogether. downloads could be available to the skinner (I use this as a gauge) on their skin page but not shown on the skin preview pages. this would level the playing field for all skins
I do play the devil's advocate a lot, even when I may agree in principle (this isn't one of them) as there are two side to every coin and a multitude a degrees in between. but let me recap, MY OPINION of what has transpired. this thread was started as a declarative statement that the rating system should be scrapped cause there are members that purposefully downgrade a skin to be mean and spiteful. the burden of proof is on the declarer, not someone who disagrees, to

umm, beauty is in the eye of the beholder with a little subjective consideration thrown in. Technical merit aside, even the mods initial rating is partly based on their subjective opinion of the submission. I don't think I need to qualify a reason for giving an 8 rated blind only one star, maybe I just didn't like the color. IMHO, a really good blind is only worth 4 stars, 5 stars are reserved for those that are a step above the rest. oh and, JTOL, if there are people abusing the proc

I had a dust up with the "in crowd" and had a blind drop two stars over night, surprise. If I hit 5K downloads I'm happy but I would guess that most of yours are in the tens of thousands downloaded, looks good from here. "let them eat cake?" only if made from pig entrails and cow dung.
