A really awesome piece, Blue Dev. Have an insightful. I still struggle with this idea. I'm not sure whether I can allow myself to believe that there are people out there that actually enjoy being 'evil' (for want of a better word), who get off on the idea of being a human stain, spreading their filth as far as possible. I have come across people who I have seen do so and have always justified that there is something wrong with them, that it is

I don’t know about everyone else, but when I was growing up my parents made a big deal about manners. Always say please and thank you, don’t talk with your mouthful, elbows off the table and, most importantly, speak when you’re spoken to. It seems that some people at JU could do with a revision lesson on the last one. I know I don’t tend to blog about par

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon IG, but I'd go out as well. Remember that if you're having a truly terrible time you can always go home. The thing that is so exciting about life is that you never know what's around the corner. You don't know who you will meet (and I don't mean romantically as I know that you, like me, are so far from looking for someone new it's not funny), what cool conversation you'll have or what you'll see. Do as Maso said

Hey IG, Nothing like a little heartache to make you question everything, hey? I guess there's nothing wrong with taking care of yourself - as long as you're doing it for you and no one else! As for that song - it is stuck in my head on repeat at the moment. She's playing over here in a couple of weeks and while I'm not into her music I wouldn't mind seeing her perform that! Interesting point that you make! I was talking about this very thing last night - the smug satisfaction you get from not rising to the bait. Taking the wind out of someone's sails, especially when they're incredibly full of hot air, is something I take great joy in. And I suppose that makes me a bitch too!

Hey Donna, Thanks for the comment. I almost feel that we should break out into Whitney's 'Greatest Love of All' or something. It's a shame that there is so much emphasis on looks simply because we miss out on so much by focussing on them. The thing that I have found the most attractive in any partner has been the confidence to be vulnerable. That made this person far more beautiful than anything that can be portrayed by looks alone.

Hey you, The makeup issue is a strange one. I only wear it when I'm going out, and I don't tend to wear much - foundation, mascara, eyeliner, maybe some eye shadow and lip balm. The actual amount I wear is minimal, but the change is quite dramatic. As a result my sister is always on at me to wear make up all the time. Well, firstly I can't be bothered, secondly I doubt my nephew or the other nannies are really going to care either way and thir

I know what you're talking about. Not that I am anywhere near approaching financial solvency, but my monetary situation isn't as dire as it once was. Rather than thinking 'Crap! I may have thrown away $40' you're thinking 'Is it worth 40 bucks to go scrounging through my rubbish?'. And that's when the guilt sets in. When you wonder where that person's gone whose day would improve by finding an extra $40. Who wouldn't have thought twice about

Miss you too babes. I am very, very jealous. Go and have a jug of Illusions at the Railway for me. Or maybe cut a few moves at Cocamunga's Glad to hear that you are so happy in your new home. Take care of yourself and report back with more blogs that will invoke a jealous rage in everyone! Suz xxx

My sister and I had some professional photos taken recently as a memento of my time here and as a present to ourselves. They’ll be great to have for when we’re all old and wrinkly and reminiscing about the good old days. And they are great, but I have also found them slightly unnerving. I’m not a very visual person so I don’t tend to think about appearanc

I've been called a bitch under many different circumstances - some deserved, some not. I will never stand proudly by the word bitch as I don't like the ethic that it seems to embody - self serving, conniving, spiteful, malicious and domineering. You are right - it does mean that we're a force to be reckoned with, I just like to prove my personal power in different ways. Women don't just have to be the soft, feminine, passive character that society seem

*gasp* Say what you want about rich people, but leave the poor innocent wine alone! Agreed. Wine is your friend if you only give it a chance. Not sure if I agree with the sentiment of the article (I know it's mostly in fun) as I know people both poor and rich who are shallow and vacuous. I th

Flooz? Was that when Homer was sleeping and he was saying "First you get the sugar....Then you get the POWER!.....When you get the POWER....Then you get the WOMEN! Damn right it is. I don't think it's crappy at all. That's exactly how I felt - as though if I could change just enough he would begin to love me as I wanted him to. I thought that it had something to do with me not being good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, kind enough... Turns out it's none of these things (no one likes a perfectionist anyway!) it's just the mix of him and me that doesn't work. I wish I could give you a big, fat hug - you sound like you

Ahhhh.... Donna - you are right as always. One of my closest friends was a heroin addict. Through her ordeal she was raped, prostituted, almost died, broken, thrown away and completely disregarded. Yet no matter how trivial I was in the ribbish that I spieled to her, she always had some sympathy. Now this fits in with what you were saying about people getting through things and getting on. Her mantra is 'personal realities'.

Dear god! That message is a little huge.... Boo to me for the culture rating! Gotta start listening to that gangsta rap (or maybe I could drill a hole into my skull with a pencil for something a little less painful?) and talking like Snoop. Nice find! Suz xxx P.S. Email is coming. It is turning into a bit of an epic! Be very, very afraid.

What's best and what you want are often two very different things and there's often no way to resolve it. I think the biggest problem in our situations is that we look too short term. If we go back to or stay with these guys it will stop our pain NOW. However, we know that in the future it is going to rear its ugly head once again, and probably be ten times bigger and a lot more scary looking. That thought is very easy to push out of your mind however,

I've been chewing on this one for a while and still don't feel that I have come up with a fitting comment, but I am going to give it a red hot go all the same. All I want in life is to be happy. I was on the fast track to earning enormous amounts of money from a very young age as a result of a) my freakish mathematical ability and b) my parents measuring success and happiness in dollars and cents. I had a lucrative scholarship with a very larg

Be kind to yourself Em. I wouldn't hold these opinions if I hadn't been silly enough to put myself through hell for a year. It would be nice if we could learn life's lessons without having to go through shit to earn them, but sometimes we have to see things for ourselves. The thing that kept me there far longer than I should have was the eternal hope that he would one day realise how great I was and how great we were together and want to make it someth

*WARNING - OPINIONATED RANTING ABOUT TO COMMENCE* Run, don't walk, to the nearest exit. In many ways this mirrors so closely my situation. You get on well, you get the comforts of a relationship with the sex and the hugs and the intimate conversations, you hang out, you have what appears from the outside to be a normal relationship. However it's not. It is some kind of facsimile of a relationship, a pseudo-relationship which seems to

Hey gorgeous Sal, You're too kind and thank you for all you've done for me in both this situation and otherwise. I've missed you! Hey dharma, That's a really nice analogy. I guess if you never got hurt it would mean that you never really felt anything, and that to me is not living. Thanks for dropping by. Suz xxx P.S. Maso - you've been warned!
