Mid game unlocking would be worse for multiplayer, not better. If everyone can see the map before committing, everyone converges on whichever government is strongest for that map and the asymmetry stops meaning anything. Picking blind is at least a real decision you have to play around. The season pass complaint is separate and fair though.

Five governments each with their own resource and loop sounds good for single player. Multiplayer balance is the thing I cant guess at until people have hammered on it for a while. Release posts always say smarter AI, so I dont put much weight on that line until Ive played a few games against it on the harder difficulties.

The no warning part is the real problem. If the flagship is going to sit there and trade into something that clearly outguns it, the least the UI can do is tell me before the turn resolves. Ive lost flagships the same way and reloaded rather than eat it.

If it reproduces after 4.0, a save for the team is the useful thing here.
