If Gabriel wanted to really convince us, he should've cut and pasted some well-written Rowling paragraphs into his incredibly poorly composed and spelled email. This guy barely speaks English himself. If I'd stolen it, I'd have posted what I stole. That makes me wonder though... Doesn't Rowling write in longhand? I wonder at wh

welcome to the asylum, The millionth JoeUser gets a free straight jacket.
LW said most of what I was going to say. I'll reiterate this much: Welcome! All you have to do to initiate a paragraph space is hit the enter key twice where you want the break to occur, there's no need to use html tags. The HTML equivalent, if you're interested, w
http://crusaderwatcher.blogspot.com/ A sad insight into socio-religeuos delusionals.... Careful, those sites are so toxic that they can rot your brain if you read too many. Agreed. It'
In a related story, the Vatican today released its 10 Commandments for Drivers. "It called for drivers to obey speed limits and to exercise a host of Christian virtues: charity to fellow drivers, prudence on the roads, hope of arriving safely and justice in the event of crashes."
"Jesus Saves" "That's why I flush mine." You say you're a Christian but then you take every opportunity to bash Christians and calling them stupid isn't very nice To quote a popular 90's philosopher, "Stupid is as stupid does." In context, the stupid Christians would be the ones behaving as described in the article. <
God. (And joining a country's army isn't the only way to be a warrior.)
So apparently the Lord has smiled on me and removed Paris from my life. I love irony.
I see every day who pass by me driving well over the speed limit with a Christian fish symbol on the back of their vehicle. Lately when I encounter those kind (the ones with little stylized dove outlines are just as bad) they seem to think speed limit signs are meant to be divided by two. <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
I don't know where this new path is going to lead, but I do know that I'll end up exactly what I'm supposed to be doing, when and where I'm supposed to be doing it. I am, however, glad that there wasn't a need for any trauma this time. Where ever the path leads, we know yo
"Scary Movie" sucks big time I didn't care for that much either. The chopped up TV version is even worse. And worse still the first sequel. I swear, the DVD menus for Scary Movie 2 were funnier than the actual film. I like the third and fourth ones, though. I guess I prefer Jim Abrahams (of Airplane! fame) to Wayans brothers. (I l
and Gene, if you're reading this thread and still need a better computer, email me @ little_whip_@ hotmail. Gideon has something for ya. Okay, I'll bite. (Not literally, of course.... I only nibble.) E-mail coming.
yes I think we should start a petition blog hahaha who is up for that?????? I follow the adage "When you're in someone else's ballpark you have to play by their rules." But that doesn't mean I don't occasionally grumble when the ump isn't looking.
(Does my third post in a row indicate how irked I am about this? Have I gone all BakerStreet, or what?) (and sometimes other possibly reltated forums, to the consternation of those forums' regulars). I'd be very happy NOT to have my articles syndicated to other forums. How about a radio button for THAT option? As it is I ha
But I'm unconvinced that forum replies getting around a Blacklist is an intended feature of the forum layout. You also can't set an article to "no comments" at the same time it's posted to the forums, people will be able to comment anyway. That's intentional, but there should be a warning, or the radio button not activated if "forums" is active,
I believe many people who blog here feel that the forums are merely an extension of the blog-space of JU; I do, anyway. I don't make "forum posts" here, I make blog entries. They just happen to show up in the format of a forum for interface purposes... That's the way I see it too, but in practice I don't think it's the reality. Take for instance
Jack and Jill went up the hill, they each had a dollar. Jack came down, Jill had two, they didn't go up for water. By way of an old Mad or Cracked or one of those type magazines: Jack and Jill Went up the hill To fetch a pail of water A lie perchance For nine months hence They had a baby daughter<B
It rhymes with "cheek" and does not simply mean "girl". It's a homophone with "Sheik." There's something even the Iron Sheik crowd should be able to grasp. (Assuming they understand a "homophone" isn't what gay guys use to talk to each other.) Seriously, if "chic" is over their heads, I wouldn't worry too much about their opinion anyway
Thank you for your comment. I think one thing is being missed here: I'm not criticizing the man's work, I'm criticizing the man. That's why I brought up Joe Straczynski. I can still highly recommend his writing on writing even though I personally know the man to be someone you'd rather not know, no matter how personable he comes across in his non-fiction. So far the comments seem to be directed toward the man's work. Frankly, I'm completely indifferent to his work. I
Hmmm... It wouldn't make a difference. Even if I thought he was a great writer and devoured everything he wrote, I'd still think he was a pathetic, spiteful sod. Take, for instance, J. Michael Straczynski. Mediocre writer of fictions and dramas. Great writer about writing. (I still consider his "The Complete Book of Scriptwriting" the best I've ever read on the subject.) As a person: world class asshole.
Don't mistake me for a Kurt Vonnegut fan turned bitter enemy. I've never read any of his books. I don't know much about him. The extent of my contact with him is living for the moment in the film adaptation of Slaughterhouse-Five when Valerie Perinne shows up naked. I used to have a book about SF drama that had a lovely still of that. Despite that, I did have a certain respect for the man and his standing. Mr. Vonnegut hi
That would have been a good moment for the video blogging.
I don't know who's responsible, who may have made phone calls, or what strings may have been pulled, but after more than a week and a half I have been freed from my captivity under the counter of Laughlin's only falafel stand/pool concession "Falaughlin World." I'm now free to blog again and go about my business as if nothing had happened. (The ten Iranian grandchildren of Falaughlin World's owners, who pummeled a
wow did I write that? "Wow" as in "Man, I can't believe how good that is! Give me a gold star!"? Or "wow" as in "Man, I gotta stop drunk blogging!"?
All the companies that just racially boycotted Don Imus (who in general I can't stand, but on principal is getting royally screwed). I think I actually heard Jesse Jackson refer to "nappy" as "the n-word." And all the little advertisers run up and kiss his big, black hiney. "Please don't boycott us, we'll screw whitey for you, yes we will, mastuh Jackson." They all deserve a reverse boycott for that B.S. as far as I'm concerned.
