I'm having a problem with Theme Manager not loading Windowblinds. The Aero Midnight Windowblind doesn't show up in Windowblinds stand alone, either. ANY windowblind with a them will not install. I'm on Windows XP, service pack 3.
You have to apply Aero Midnight before the skin will show up in WindowBlinds. What happens when you try to apply Aero Midnight?
The icon says installed however DeskScapes does not show up on the Object Desktp tab of Impule at all. Do I need to double click the activate file in Program Files/Stardock/Object Desktop/Deskscapes?
To apply a dream after installing Deskscapes on XP. Right click on the desktop and choose properties. From the Display Properties menu Deskscapes now has a tab. <img src="https://www.stardock.com/kirk/dk.png" alt="Deskscapes XP" width="493" height="549"
I have an Nvidia GeForce 7300GT 512Mb 8x AGP card with the latest drivers from Nvidia and Direct x 9 installed and there are still additonal drivers needed?
Give it a shot on that card with that configuration. You may see acceptable results. Please let us know what CPU utilization you observe.
I also just read a post in DeskScapes for XP that suppoet for AGP video cards isn't yet available. Is this true?
Correct, here is the long answer. We have been working with the video card manufacturers to improve performance running dreams with low CPU utilization on AGP cards. At this time we have had success obtaining driver updates that perform very well on AGP 8x. These driver updates have not been released by the manufaturer at this time.&n
I use XP Home SP2 fully patched. I previously had Deskscapes hidden as it was for Vista. I checked to have hidden programs show and got Deskscapes to show in Impulse but it is partly transparent. It says it's available, and it will go through the install routine, but then just jumps back to Available again. If DeskScapes for XP isn't a standalone then how do I get it to install?
You caught us publishing Deskscapes! Please try again in about 30 minutes.
Zargon0225 is Desktop Collage geting updated today too...I'm really looking forward to the sub dir support...it it be posted on the Desktop Collage dream page?
The dream has been updated by Dreamer to handle the sub-directory support and add randomization.
After the upadate to Sound Packager it won't open. It starts, gets part way thought loading sounds and stops. You get the message that it has encountered a problem and has to shut down.
What sound package? All of them?
I hate to be a pain but when Deskscapes for XP is released will it be seperate or will we see Deskscapes go to 2.5 and include XP support?
Deskscapes 2.5 will include XP support. It will not be seperate download.
Zargon. With regards to Theme Manager not closing correctly I have tracked the problem down to trying to load Deskscapes. When loading Descapes all I get is the torch searching and Descapes does not load any dreams. After closing Theme Manager the process is still working in the background using about 50% of the CPU. I have Intel E6750 installed. Could this be because I have a lot of dream files installed. They are installed in the default location, Documents\Stardock\Dreams.
</
Possibly premature report... Re. Deskscapes in XP Pro (SP3); I'm experiencing what apears to be an incomplete install. The download size of 2.00.058 is initially offered at 54.3MB. When the download is initiated, the progress figures suggests the target is 44.37MB. Impulse shows files extracted and install complete, then returns to showing Deskscapes available. The Deskscapes folder is created, however only DreamMaker has made an appearance.
</p
SDC works perfectly fine under any circumstance - whether I am behind a firewall or not. Why do developers keep insisting on reinventing the wheel?
Opus, We have made Impulse much more secure than SDC. This is in response to requirements from our software vendors that we distribute their intellectual property (software) in the most secure fashion possible. We are not reinventing the wheel, we are responding to market demands. Zar
I have one question When will this be released? Or mabye a beta version? I don't have a problem testing it.
Tomorrow is the release date.
I'm still with IconPackager V3
This is your problem. Why are you using IP3?
When I open WindowBlinds, Blinds i tried to apply with ThemeManager are not on the list. Two skins...Encounter and Gloss Burgundy failed to apply with ThemeManager as these were the only ones I tried with the new build. I did not recently have them installed.
This has been tested as resolved in the releasing coming out today.
Theme manager still does not close correctly. I still have to end the process with task manager
We don't see that here. Can you please provide more specifics about what you are doing inside of Theme Manager.
Hi! Could you please post the order in which you installed the GalCiv II game and expansions? Please include the medium used to install each (order is important) such as CD, SDC or Impulse. Thank you!
1: Very slow to apply themes. MyColors applies them much faster.
This is because we have implemented a new way to apply the icons that is more reliable. The previous way would leave some icons "behind" so to speak (they would not be updated to the currently applied theme). The new way applies the icons 100% of the time. The tradeoff is that it takes a bit longer.
