@fooshniken: Thanks for checking. The included weather docklet has worked consistently well and accurately for me for the last 2 years. I actually like Accuweather better than the Weather Channel. I travel a lot, and finding a city with Accuweather (especially overseas) is significantly easier than with TWC. I also like Accuweather's presentation better -- thank goodness we have choices, eh? :) Cheers, Jeff

Does your custom icon display the current temperature? That's info I can't get just by looking out the window. [e digicons]|-)[/e] I suppose I could get up and go outside to see if it's too hot, too cold or just right, but I kinda like to use the software on my computer to make my life easier, not harder. I haven't had to "fool around" with the weather docklet since I went back to OD from WinStep -- it's worked great. Very much a set-it-and-forget

Hi Neil, Maybe you could check with the Decor8 developers to improve the certainty of your answer? If that's definitely the case then maybe a disclaimer can be put in the ads or docs for Decor8? It's not cool to be greeted with this surprise upon upgrading to Windows 8.1, and it's not cool that users have to dig for this info, nor that they have to wait 2 months for a (possible) answer. Automatic/Custom colors don't work for the Charms bar in Win 8.1 in Decor8 Stardock Forums

With the update to Windows 8.1, Decor8 no longer colors the Charms bar and the Big Clock backgrounds when the mouse is hovered over the charms (and before clicking a charm). The background stays black. The option to color the Charms bar in the Options panel is gone, too. I'm comparing the current behavior that I see to how Decor8 functioned under Windows 8. Once a charm is clicked, the background and accents get colorized as expected: according to the settings in Decor8.

Yes. I've given up trying to fix it beyond associating the soffice.bin (and hence all .bin files) with an OpenOffice EXE file. Then at least the non-functional dock item looks like what it represents. Jeff

Does a flyout menu docklet revert to a standard folder dock item (with "Show folder in a menu") selected once a folder contains a certain number of folders and or files? I have a music collection folder with 6,766 Files, 396 Folders that won't open as a flyout menu. Instead, it opens as a menu of folders. A second music folder, with 6,588 Files, 1,197 Folders exhibits the same behavior. In a different flyout menu docklet, other folders with fewer items

Do you ever want to see the Windows taskbar? If not, set it to autohide and set the ObjectDock dock to be fixed at the bottom edge. If you do want to sometimes see the Windows taskbar, try setting up your dock as a floating dock and move down near the bottom edge. I don't know why one dock icon would launch another program, unless the dock icons were changed and the icons that were selected did not match the application to which the dock shortcut pointed.</p

If you run OD as an administrator under Windows 8, you can add a SysStats docklet. If you don't run as admin, OD crashes as soon as you select SysStats from the docklet list. Even if you run OD as admin, context-clicking the SysStats docklet on the dock and selecting Load (to load a meter theme/icon) will crash OD. It's 100% repeatable on my system. I haven't tried completely disabling UAC, but I shouldn't have to, I don't think. Jeff</p

Please update the now-open-source SysStats so that it works with the current version of ObjectDock. I need real-time info on what's going on in my system, and having that info in a dock would be great. Since upgrading to Windows 8, I've had to rely on 8Gadget Tools and its included meters to provide system info. Use the screen that was shown in reply #2 to open the folder where the current dock information is stored. Unload ObjectDock. Open the folder where you stored the backup files. Replace the files in the current folder with the files from the backup folder. Restart ObjectDock. Jeff

Logitech mouse? I had a similar problem with other software, where using a custom programmed button on the mouse would leave the modifier key (Ctrl, Shift or Alt) active when I switched to that software. So typing S became Ctrl+S, pressing the tab key became Alt+Tab (yikes!) etc. The only workarounds were to change the custom button on the mouse or manually press the Ctrl, Shift or Alt keys to deactivate the modifier. Having disabled sdmcp.exe via Stardock Central a long time ago, a recent slew of updates through *Impulse* has re-enabled it. The update affected WB6, SKS6 Pro, IP4, MyColors Diamond and (maybe?) DesktopX. SDC is still installed, but I never use it anymore. Currently active Stardock apps include CursorFX, WB6, IP4, ODPlus, SoundPackager and 3 stand-alone DesktopX Gadgets. Why? How? Hi All, I have a new system coming soon that will be loaded with Vista Business 64 (Dual Quad Cores and 16 GB RAM). Of all the Object Desktop apps that I use now on XP, the one I don't think I could do without is ObjectDock.
