Just like the title says.. I could select the colors but they would not apply until I added another tab. Not sure if the 1 tab needs to be on the top or bottom, but I think so.. Then you cannot color them..

Yes, I did that. It didn't help. But I was not sure Fences was not running because the window was still open. I cannot even find Fences in the Task Manager. My Taskbar Thumbnail popups stopped working around the time I upgraded to Fences 6. I'm using Grok to try and help me solve this issue. But nothing works. Thanks. I'll post a pic of the transparent fences and the 'All Groups' personalization transparency slider of full solid. I can slide it all the way back and forth and it has no effect on transparency. I did just notice that the All Groups transparency slider does work on the fences I created on my 2nd 'Page'. Thanks for the great explanations basj! I have turned on Hide, and set all fences to 100% opacity. The only way I could get the Alt key to stop fully showing all fences was to set every individual fence to 100% Opacity. Which I don't want... I liked them individually appearing from 20% opacity to full when I mouse over. And then, in Personalization, the Transparency slider does not work with 'All Groups', so I still cannot adjust their transparency. Howe
About 20 minutes after the above post things seemed to start working. This is how far I have to widen the Start Menu to make that image fit. I'll just have to figure out the ratio between the image width, and the Start Menu width, and squish this image down. This is stupid....
I understand what you mean. So, I resized the image to just a bit larger than the Start Menu background, and it still is stretching it. It would be nice if the developer could give some instructions on how to make a background. What are the rules to follow? I am trying to make my background 'just fit' into the start menu, with the right-side panel gray, and with none of the image. I believe I have done it correctly. But it still stretches it. <
Yes. Here are comparisons of that checked and unchecked. It stretches it no matter what. I don't want it to stretch at all.. The original size at 100% is on the left... PS: the first two background images I had edited to make the canvas larger, and the actual image on the left top, trying to figure out how this works. It seems the menu puts the images a little higher than the actual menu is drawn.
I am running Start11 v2.55 on Win11 64. It has had this problem since I bought it on Steam last January. The background image always resizes when I resize the menu. See attached .gif. Thanks, I finally tracked down the cause. It was a program called Alomware Toolbox that I use. I don't see any settings in the app that would control this issue. But if I close it, my preview windows popup find at my taskbar on the top of the monitor. I've contacted the dev of that app, and he is usually quick with replies.. Fingers crossed...

I'm on Fences 4.22, and recently reinstalled win11. When I delete files in a desktop fence or folder portal, it does not ask to confirm the file deletion. Is there any way to turn that on??

Thanks for the reply. I was mainly asking about the Windows virtual desktops. Thanks for the answer. 'Pages' sounds just like virtual desktops, where you could(on win 10) drag to the next desktop from the screen edge. So, by doing that now, pages will switch to the new fences page? And the desktop switching and fences switching are handled separately? How much of system resources does Fences 5 use?? Is it using the CPU a lot?

What if the steam icons are not in the Start menu already? I recently installed Windows 11 on a new partition. All of my steam games are on different drives. I have all of there icons in a folder, and they work. But how do I pin them to the Start11 menu?
