The Violent Femmes, The Clash, The Rolling Stones.... I'm not a big purchaser of music. I'm a radio girl, and by that, I mean car radio. I have several radios in the apartment, but it's mostly just filler; the car radio is where I rock out most. The Beatles, The Kinks, The White Stripes... I can't dance. At least, I can't line

A and B are the story of my life. A- In turn, I've tried to be more upfront, but it scares the hell out of me, so I end up backing off (ie: not leaving the house) for about a month, and then it seems like we're back to square one, once again. B- On several occasions, I've found the need to move on, and its only then, that my interest is returned. Pfft. 1. I share an office, sometimes with three other people. In

Magazines like Seventeen, YM, and Jane, while stating they are aimed for older teenagers, are actually purchased by younger girls 16 and under. They are heavy with advertisements, with the majority following the trend that sex sells. Girls are groomed to buy, buy, buy while emulating those that are popular, beautiful, and of course, accepted. The more designer outfits and the 'right' makeup, the more sought-after the owner is. And isn't this the same

So, I was sitting at the bar one night, and... ... my bartender motions behind me and says, "Who what that, Nicky?" I swivel around on my stool, and don't see anyone. I turn back to her and she said, "He was just there a few minutes ago, in fact, he was standing behind you for about five minutes, and thought it was strange because

Today's one of those days where everything's gone wrong. For starters, I knew it was going to be a semi-day. Semi-hungover after a late night at the Money Money concert, and a rude awakening to wild bruises and things that are going to leave a scar. I was right up front just givin' 'er last night, and the crowd was young and crazy. Slamdancing or mo

did you and Kole ever get the package I sent at Christmas? Absolutely! And btw, I sent you a letter, and then sent you package last Friday, did you get it? Our mail service is shite... Thanks for the lovely gifts, and Kole loves "Snowflake".

It's been seven days since I've posted an article, so in JU terms, it's been like a year away from the crazy ole nut house. You'd think that I'd have a lot to write, but really, the only thing that I've been doing these days is trying to keep afloat at my place of employment. You'd think that I have never stepped foot in the office, or ever accessed the file

It's been a busy three days, and I've managed to pull overtime all three days because I don't have a clue what I'm doing. The negative of the job is this: when taking over another person's job who originated the position, there's no such thing as an easy way in. Add to the fact that my higher up is currently on vacation, and I'm really just treading water wildly until

Just dropping by during my first full week of work as *trumpets sound* Arts Aministrator. I'm so busy that I feel like I'm going mad, poor Kole is really missing the underemployed Mommy and would rather have her back, and the only thing I want these days is sleep without dreaming about what I might be forgetting at work. As far as the drama goes, what drama? (And what's your new favorite place, haha?)

Late yesterday afternoon, Kole informed me that it was a PA day today. News to me, and also slightly suspicious since she's been Little Miss Truant for most of the week.* However, according to her school journal, it is indeed a PA day, so my plans of doing absolutely nothing are now changed to doing absolutely nothing with child . But of

I am now breathing a long sigh of relief: I got the job and I start on Monday. I have only had one day of work since December, and the total amount of money I have is simply random coins in my back pocket. Things were pretty dire, but now, things are looking up once again. My latest assignments concern making sense of the mailing lists, transferring

But G is no dummie...he tells me its not real and "I need youuuuuuuuuuu." I've been going through that for the last little while, and it's so intense. We call it 'being clingy', and though I know my girl wants my love, I often have to pry her away. And she's 9! I don't think it's got anything to do with an icy disposition... to cal

Dude, how'd you do the line through thing? You're way too hi-tech for me. ha. I know a bit of the ol' html, but it always surprises me when it works out.

Lately, here and elsewhere, there's been a lot of grumbling about what may or may not be good for the community. If only it were so simple to just cast someone aside, send them to their corners until the forums have time to settle a bit. But we all know that it starts back up almost immediately, so what's the point? I imagine a Joeuser with a polling system

I hate using the phone... but I can sound pretty professional when I have to. However, like you, I have a 'young' voice. I get a lot of calls asking me if my parents are home... which is just creepy. I then tend to give the caller hell for that.

D: The best thing since sliced cheese. Okay, okay... maybe not, but it was the best out of the 4. I think that they can be useful and insightful, and also pretty frivolous and inane. I'd be interested to see, as a community, how Joeuser would use this option. Would it be all pervy sex polls, or boring!but!important! political polls? Hopefully there'd be a wide variety, if this option were ever made available.
