You might want to look at using a html area inside a object, that way you could use any/all html formatting you want, and just "refresh" the contents. It could be scrollable, etc. Just an idea.

visually Astra is very nice, the notifications are great too..
Been using Astra for about a year or more (alpha and up). If you use multiple services it works very well. Not pleased with the facebook chatting (it dont work). But IRC/AIM/MSN/GOOGLE CHAT all work seemlessly in 1 list of names. I like it. But try it out and see.
im not 100% sure what you need form me, but if you want to send me an email with a link to the theme, and what you are looking to have done, i will look into it.
is there a reason you use a directory, and not multiple "states" in the objects? I always used 1 weather object with multiple states to it. If you want to use a folder, you can always use desktopx.ExecutableDirectory to tell you where you loaded the exe from, and then use a folder under that, etc. jsut my 0.02
I know this is way off topic, but how possible would it be to add that reflection item to DX 4?
By the way " RomanDA ", I hope I have answered your concerns on how to get the real XML File from Weather.com.
Its fine.. i was just worred when i saw that. I have not played with weather xmls in forever, and i knew they were "cracking down" on people using the feeds.

never been a fan of sounds in windows, being that i work in so many different places, sounds and draw attention or comments, etc. So i usually have my volume off on my machine, "just in case" someone put stupid music in a web page, or some other sounds. Just my 0.02
I at least see the page #'s now. Just not seeing the >'s in the my replies to take me to the last position in the post. but its getting there. I cant imagine how much work all this is, so keep up the good work, and hang in there!
ok.. now im posting and its not showing up
still having some strange issue.. If i look at "my replies" the > is gone. If i look at "My posts" the > is there. Very strange
ok maybe im missign something but under "my replies" i no longer see the arrow that used to take me to the last reply i had read on that post. Is it gone, or is there a new way to do this?
I wish you the best sir, and to your lovely bride-to-be as well. My the Lord bless you and yours.
I also have seen the "dragging" issue of activex controls. Another fix.
I know the web browser works in Win7 as im using it in a gadget.
There are several network widgets out there, i would suggest downloading them and seeing how they work. There is no 'built-in" way to simply have it pick a network connection, there has to be be something setup to do that IE: Scripting. As for rotating a slider, i am not sure, i have not used many of those in my widgets, and its been a long time since i have made one. Again, i would begin all my questions by searching thru the widgets and seeing what others have done, an
i believe there are a few weather widgets over in the widgets forum, and if you take some time and look them over you should be able to see how they work, or do like most people do, and take one and just move the images around, and put some new text on them.
i know whats happening. go into all the text objects, etc and change their properties for "relation" and change the "activation" to "none" this will make it transparent to the mouse. what is happening is that all objects are setup to have mouseover capabilities, and when you "stack" items on top of each other the mouse has to look at all the objects as it passes over them. so when you make the parent object have a mouseover event it works as long as the mouse is "O
For Each o In DesktopX.Objects o.hue = 30 Next
ok.. how the hell did i go all these years progamming in DX and NOT know this was out there.. WOW! This little bit of code is so cool.. with this i could make every object "fade" out, or "invisible" no matter how many objects, and without having to make an array of names. With this little bit of code, i could (if my objects are named correct.. ie: Main_BG, Main_Open, Main_Close, Small_BG, Sma
are you dragging it to the 2nd monitor? some dx widgets can have code in them that moves them to a locaition if the current x/y is off the screen. Email the person who made the gadget/widget and tell them whats going on.
the word "Silently" scares the CRAP out of me.. sounds like someone wants to "INFECT" people's machines..
I wish I had the knowledge of Martin, sViz, and PomanDa, and littleboy....I would be a DX God!!! Muaaahhhhhaaha!
is POmanDa what Po's and My child would be called?
I think i need to contact my son's school district and see who is in charge of teaching programming, and offer my help and experience.

Let me know how you get on with this. Obviously curricula will vary from country to country, but I may be able to assist and hopefully we can get a common approach.
Found out that "when" the HS teaches programming, its done via the states "cyber campus", so its an on-line thing. I just dont have the time or
