Hey Elf, that's interesting stuff. I'd never heard of that theory. I had heard the LOTR conspiracy theory, that Albus (white) was like Gandolph when he comes back as a white wizard, the thought being that Dumbledore might die and then come back stronger than before. Dunno, though. And I hate the idea of Hagrid taking over as Harry's mentor. I like Hagrid, but he's kinda annoying. But it fits with him being the half-blood prince theory and then taking a

Darn, you caught me.... -A.
Good points about Neville. Wonder if his parents ever get better? In some ways I think Neville's character has more tragedy than Harry's. It's one thing for your parents to be dead; it's another to see them like that year after year. I love having a good guy that you love to hate. Makes it interesting.
I actually don't generally disagree with you. (Were there enough qualifiers in there? Good.) Being a newlywed myself, even a religious one, I have no problem with every marriage being a civil union and then perhaps religiously stamped or certified on top of that. For those who want it. (Or, heck with it, for the purists, they could just have a religious ceremony to keep the state from interfering with their religion. I don't care.) However, I'
My girls make me happy and I like those kinds of dreams. I'm just ignoring the rest of your post and fixating on that sentence 'cause it's FRICKIN' FUNNY. -A.
Wouldn't it be great if she killed off Malfoy? Mmm. Makes me smiley. But I doubt she will--I wonder if Malfoy doesn't grow up to be a bit of a Snape himself. Actually, Neville emulates Sprout, Hermione emulates McGonagall, Ron emulates...maybe Madam Hooch?... and Harry either emulates Dumbledore or has the skills of a DAtheDA teacher, so those are some funny parallels. I thought I was all original to think of Pettigrew--he does'n't show up in
Yeah, that pink umbrella is gonna get some action. I can't figure out if Hagrid has been officially exonerated from the Chamber of Secrets incident or not. The larger magical world will be very interesting to hear about. I'm looking forward to the breadth of that--we got a taste of it with the other schools in vol 4 and the giants' story in vol 5, but this should be interesting.
Brilliant piece, BlueDev. And I confess to being stupid from time to time, so yeah--you're right, and I'm stupid. -A.
Today I feel the need to indulge in a fantasy world where life is more fixable. I picked up vol 3 of Harry Potter and started reading.... Then, to be more productive, I googled the sixth book and started wondering (if you haven't read book five, there are spoilers here; ye be forewarned): Who is this "half-blood" prince? J. K. Rowling has said it's n
Yeah. That's kinda what we thought. So you can see that I'm not a big fan of silly licenses or laws (helmet, seatbelt) even though I can understand why they're there. We shouldn't have laws to protect us from our own stupidity--or in this case, protect us from stupidity backed by money and a greedy father. -A.
Dunno what to say, Mugz. I think you're right that this isn't a gender issue--it's a human one. I could give stupid relationship advice, but what do I know? I'm not involved, but I care about you and I want you to be happy. Cheers. -A.
Yay. Something else to license. Did you know we had to get an agricultural license to put fish in our pond? And I have to pay for all my fishing licenses (except on my pond) even though I catch none. I'm against unneeded licensure. To hell with Ashlee Simpson, et. al.--I just don't buy their albums. Though I think this was a clever idear. -A.
Honestly, I can't wait for the election to be over. Me too......I'm beyond saturation point. Way beyond it. Now I just want to see who the next Prez is going to be, and get on with it. Me three. I voted just over a week ago and have been accosted by phone calls and door-to-doormen ever since and s
As long as my husband has shirts and you have ideas, I'll be here. -A.
Good luck. Don't forget deodorant like I did on a recent interview. (Oops. Need to wash that sweater.) The questions I hate are "How would your friends describe you?" (A: A little crazy, witty, and opinionated--but I can't tell you those); "Why should we hire you?" (A: 'Cause I want the damn job!) and "Would you like a glass of water/coffee/tea?" Apparently you're supposed to say "no" so you're not awkwardly trying to drink it and shake hands
Badnarik.Via absentee, therefore registered. From a state in the NW (not telling, sorry).
Damn blog spammers keep bumping this, and I keep deleting them. Sorry. Blech. -A.
H got the same call tonight. Bill must be busy...and, apparently, indiscriminate. -A.
historyisheresy... I like it!!!!!! Yes, I'm very clever like that --she drawls sarcastically. I'm also going to bedfordshire. I hope you know what movie that line is from; if not, sorry, our e-friendship (friEndship?) is kaput. *my husband bet me I couldn't find a way to use the word "
I saw the interview tonight and I wasn't convinced he was telling the truth, but he didn't seem very at ease the entire time. Not that I blame him--having a journalist sit me down when I have better things to do...oh, wait, I never have better things to do. Yeah, I'm beginning to think you've got some kind of scary crush on Ashlee Simpson, historyisheresy. One of the scary ones,
*is shocked* Clicking on my name in your article takes me to Microsoft.com, my ARCHNEMESIS!! (archenemy, nemesis, a bit of both) You really don't know me at all! *runs off and slams door* -A.
Ugh. Can you say "fired"?
That's sweet. My letter to Nintendo would go something like this: Dear Nintendo, I want my husband back, you jerks! -A. (Er, because he plays a lot of games...in case that wasn't clear.... 's fact, he's over at a friend's house right now playing them and I'm all alone...) I miss the days of writing those letters. I found one a few years ago th
That's true. I do kinda see it in three dimensions, though if I think about it (and tilt my head) I see it as more than that, like two cyclones on different planes. V. nice. -A.
We don't have to forget where we came from, in order to be who we are. Yes. Congrats to both of you. -A.
