Heh. What's the idiot wearing a button for, anyway? Of course he's going to get reactions from teenagers. Anyway, I'm with the rest of the people using their brains: There is nothing immoral about 69. The jokes, however, may be immoral, but not the act--er, I mean, the highway itself. -A.

Hmm. Sounds like your beef is with religion, not her. And it sounds like it wouldn't have worked out in the long run. Edit: hmm, I take it back. I think you're a nice guy--this was an uncharacteristic post for you. -A.

Heh, I picked up on Tex's thing, too. That was funny. I went to boarding high school and we used to sneak out and drive into town, either to Taco Bell (where we risked running into faculty) or the 7/11 for slurpees. One night in particular we almost didn't get back into the dorm because the window we dropped out of was significantly higher than others we'd previously used. <img

Imajinit: Haven't seen any of those movies, but I know the gist. And you're right in that it might not have worked out. I guess I fault myself for not ever giving it a try. Though it does beg the question of whether or not it would have been good for her to be in our home for awhile before getting shunted off into another...but then I'm still guessing the past. Fair point. Thanks. Floozie, Kingbee, and BlueDev: I was thinking when I wrote it l

Last night going to bed I was irritated with H for something--something stupid, I'm sure--I can't even remember why. Whatever it was, it started one of those melancholy snowball fits of all the horrible things I've done in life--embarrassing, mean, selfish, just plain stupid--coming back to haunt me. And I have some doozies. But this is the worst, because it was the e

I've just started altering my own clothes--easy stuff like cotton t-shirts and skirts so far. I'm largish in the chest and smallish at the waist, which may or may not be sexy to H but is damn hard to find shirts. Larges look funny at my waist and mediums look, like Tex said, indecent. And don't get me started on pants...ugh. Of course getting married didn't help--I've gained about 10 pounds in fourth months. Yucky. Why is that, anyway? Why? WH

LL, thanks for your comments. InBloom, funny you mentioned Alberto Gonzalez--that was what prompted the episode last night. BlueDev and Zoomba, you guys are a lot more succinct than I'm able to be. Thanks for your comments. I've tentatively moved this into the forums, but it honestly *is* more about trying to have a friendship again, and not so much about political dif

Dear friends, I've never been quite so angry as I was last night. It was nothing personal and I certainly won't hold it against you in the long run. But let me explain some things: Just because you don't like Bush doesn't mean he's wrong on every move he makes, every person he appoints, every time he takes a breath. You don't have to criticize ev

Interesting blog. I never knew of this schism, but it makes sense--kinda like the divide between holistic medicine and medicine. The internist I know is big into nutrition and health food, ironic given that his wife is bulemic and is one of the heiresses to the Little Debbie fortune. (I don't mean to sound like I'm making fun of her--she's overcome the bulemia and they're just two of the nicest people in the world--but there's always some good irony if

Thanks for writing this, Chiprj. I just watched our little town's parade coming down Main Street, and from a town the size of 8,000 we have one WWI, one WWII, and several from Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf I. Thanks to you all. -A.
