Tad Williams' writing can take some getting used to, so that trilogy, with a stronger story, is a better introduction to his style. Thanks for the insight MasonM. I agree that I still have a lot to learn, and I am quite glad I have lots of time still to fill with learning (I certainly hope!). I also agree that it is our experiential age that really shows who we are, not so much our chronological age.
Toilet paper rolls make fabulous kazoos, telescopes, periscopes, swords (if you have enough), trumpets, and can even be used for homemade fireworks. In fact, they are just so darn useful that it is almost a sin to throw one out before the perfect use comes to mind. I am sure that is it.
Wow, it has been years since I went to the circus last. So long, in fact, that I do'nt remember how old I even was. Glad your kids enjoyed it. I am sure mine would love it. Right now we are looking forward to the Australia addition they are doing to the zoo out here. Once that is done they will have representations of lots of the continents and the kids will surely get a kick out of that.

Nice write up of some good (and not so good IMO) books. I will toss out my thoughts on them because, well, I suppose I am that arrogant. 1) Wheel of Time series-You are at a good point. The books are still interesting, things are actually still happening. I liked it around book 4, even book 5. By the time I got to book 6 I was getting bored and 7-9 were a complete waste of time.
