Dr. Donald: Thank you for your comment, your example and the teaching you have surely done to others in many capacities along the way in your career. That is what I learn the most from in my budding career: the examples of my mentors and those who have gone before. I look forward to your thoughts and the many things I am sure I can learn from you.

Wow, jennifer, that was just idiotic. What is the point of telling someone who is stopping by to say "Hi" to fark off? Silver and Jade: It has always been that way. There are user points and blog points. Your user pointes depend on your replies and how many replies you get. Your blog score is based on the number of points your articles have.

One word of caution: Posting this up on the net opens your work up to be plagiarized, and it opens up what you turned in to be called plagiarism. Then you end up having to convince someone you were the author of both works. That is the reason I have never posted any of my scholastic essays. Perhaps I am just paranoid.

I can only imagine what it's like to be there, in that situation. It is interesting to be in the middle of it, that is to be sure. I hope it does not happen to you too often Well, it ha

Sounds like a difficult job to me. It can be, at times. It is also, however, incredibly rewarding. You're a good man, mate. That means a lot coming from you Maso. Thanks.</

Not quite a year ago, I penned some thoughts on being in the ICU, and what it was like to walk with death . This article is the natural evolution of that. "Dr. Jones, what was the time of death?" There is no need to look at the clock. I already did. And at that moment, I firmly fixed in my mind that hour and minute. I know what time she died. I was there. In fact, I was th

I noticed this cropped up with the most recent update of Ecliz Deluxe, but it was easy enough to fix with User Overrides in WB. I simply set the text size to 10% larger and the problem went away. However, with the most recent update to WB, I seem to have lost the option of setting the text size larger. Perhaps I am just missing it. I really miss being able to use Ecliz Deluxe and would love to know how to either 1) fix this titlebar issue, or 2) adjust the font size in the newest ver

I thought the numbers shipped was less than 1/2 of your estimate. The numbers initially shipped were less than what I wrote, but at the time of writing reports were around 440,000 shipped worldwide. Even then, I'

Well, the bank check for the closing and down payment is in my hand, we did the walkthrough this morning, and we close in an hour and a half! I am very excited.

With the recent launch of the Playstation 3, Sony has been under a lot of scrutiny. Rightfully so in my opinion. Their incredibly arrogant smack talking right up to launch really bothered many consumers, myself included. I mean, having the nerve to state that (and I'm paraphrasing here) "The next generation of gaming starts when we (Sony) say it does" is just stupid. Add to that manufacturing problems, a hugely delayed and underwhelming "global launch" (oh, I guess E

Mmmmmm, fundge. My mom made (makes?) awesome fudge. Simple, but just too darn good to believe. I miss it.

So, an explanation is in order. I actually started this article to mention that my entry for the JU Writing Challenge #3 wasn't going to happen. The entry was going to be one, maybe two sentences long. I started working on a story, with just the most basic idea of what I wanted to write and, well, it has grown some. I'm up to 4 pages (10 point font, single spaced in Word) and I feel I have just barely begun. I will continue to work on it, as it has suddenly becom

His cell phone blared in his pocket, the custom ringtone more irritating than entertaining. But he liked it that way. Stupid people and their stupid trendy ringtones. He hated them. He pulled it out and flipped it open, only to hear a dialtone. Dammit, he thought to himself. "If you dial a wrong number, at least have the balls to let me know!" he muttered under his breath to the empty room. What pissed him off even more was the fact that this was the fourth time in a ro

Exactly one month ago I wrote a blog about closed doors and open windows. Well that open window I mentioned? It's closing. In fact, Friday afternoon, it closes officially, and we will walk away with the keys to our own (first!) house. I am thrilled. I sat on the couch tonight, looking around our current apartment with such excitement. It hasn't been a bad place to live, and honestly was exact

I got the error as well. I did the same as Gid, checked the site to see if the article had posted, which it had, before trying again. My guess is that is the source of the duplicates.
