I'm seriously frustrated with this
Damn! Sorry to hear that friend.
cplair, could you give me a link to the forum post you speak of?
Oh damn! Did everything but the link! [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/312892/page/2"]WWW Link[/link] Here you go bro!
go into Impulse and click the "?" in the upper right corner, select "Open XML's Folder" (Public), then delete everything inside that folder. After that, uninstall Icon Packager from Impulse then reinstall from Impulse
If you haven't tried this yet, give it a go! :CONGRAT: Here's hoping that this works for you like it did for me! :CONGRAT:
What up brother RPG? Go here to this forum where we all had a similar issue with IPv4. You can read up on how my issue got fixed on the second page, then give the fix a try. Good Luck! Cp :CONGRAT:
Cplair, did you manage to get all THREE IP apps to work with that procedure (I have some doubts)?
Indeed I did haerdalis, the three elements of Icon Packager are working fine including the shell extension Icon Tabs for the respective file properties, since taking those steps. The thing is, once you get a good solid install, you shouldn't be prompted for activation. At least this is how it worked for me. ;)
Wrote back to Mike in Support tonight ... will report back when I hear back from him!
Hey, good luck with that bro. Travis from SS instructed me to go into Impulse and click the "?" in the upper right corner, select "Open XML's Folder" (Public), then delete everything inside that folder. After that, uninstall Icon Packager from Impulse then reinstall from Impulse. Impulse failed to uninstall IP for me, so I uninstalled from SDC, then used Impulse to r
For the folks that are still experiencing this problem, I've been working with Travis from Stardock Support on this issue for a few days now. This issue is fixed! What some of you may have to do is to first uninstall Icon Packager with Impulse, and to be safe, reboot your system. After reboot relaunch Impulse and then reinstall Icon Packager. Icon Packager and Icon Explorer should now be working without having to activate it! If for some reason you can't uninstall from Impul
GlassToast is a neat little program
Glass Toast is a sweet looking app, but I've been using this tiny free app that gives you a live thumbnail of your minimized windows called Visual Tool Tip with XP for almost 5 years now. It's invisible and I've never had a problem with it. Although I will admit Glass Toast does look much nicer. That's cool RustySam, my IP and Icon Explorer are now working as well. What I had to do was run the uninstaller from Impulse and then reinstalled from Impulse. Once you get a clean install, you shouldn't be prompted to activate at all. At least that's what happened to me. Anyway, I'm glad it worked out for both of us! Cp :CONGRAT:
Word has it that the developer slipped on some goose or monkey poo
Damn geese!
I'm currently going through the same issue that started with my Icon Packager but now it's with my Icon Explorer and I am in contact with Travis of Stardock Support trying to resolve this. What's weird is my Icon Packager all of a sudden started working again after uninstalling and reinstalling. Every time I attempt to open Icon Explorer or import an icon, I'm prompted to enter my e-mail and serial activation. But once it's entered I receive the message that I've exceeded my activati
There's an easier way (if you're on XP): TweakUI from MS
Thanks BB, I really didn't think about tweak as a solution. But yeah, that works! I just found an option in Tune-up Utility's "Tune-up Styler" that allows you to shut off the overlay as well. Thanks again for the speedy reply and for the help BB... Cp ;)
It only hit me later on that I could do so much more than that
Ahhhhhh, got bit by the bug! You'll do yourself even prouder once you see what the rest of this stuff can do. Three things you can try in the mean time: A. Go to the Screen Shot Gallery to see some of the different levels of customization you can achieve. Thanks for the info Haptork and as it is right now I'm about ready to try your suggestion. The ability was just so much easier in the older version of Icon Packager. My thinking is, if enough people show that they miss it, the developers may put this option back into an updated version.
I for one appreciated this simple option and wish the developers would put it back into IP4. It was a great way to clean up those annoying shortcut arrows.
