I don't see this conversation as elitism (unless its by the screenshotters). It's about putting forth good quality work that supports the sponsor of the site's goals.

The 'screenshot clique', or 'rat pack' as some of you like to be known, is entirely responsible for the decline in the screenshot gallery. You upload endless numbers of samey shots, boost each others ratings, and lavish praise on each other. What good is that doing for skinning?
<br/

A WC historical fact: Jan 2007 my screen shot of a DX Theme I created "Sith Control Center" received one of the last feature tokens. However the shot was never featured because the switch was flipped from the old WC to the new site. Apr 2007 the question was asked how long is the iPhone Fish going sit on Screen Shot Of The Day. That is when this discussion was opened. May 2007 The Rat Pack was formed by AzDude and me because the question never got answered. Lots of

The screen shot of the day declined when WC moved to it's new site months before there was such a thing as a Rat Pack! So don't go there, that's a p
The better answer would be to delete the screenshot section altogether.
Oh well, it's their site to run the way they feel fit Fuzzy, so if that's the conclusion then it is what it is. And that would indeed be a straight answer to the question.

I appreciate your having my back on this Leo! I just wish the Administrators were a little bit more receptive! It's like every time I open my mouth about this simple question I've become demanding, impatient, lacking faith and in general I'm being treated like I'm a total pain in the ass. And if you read the Administrative response, you will quickly see that I'm not irrational for saying how I'm being treated. The truth of the matter is I've been sitting here
Admininstrators and moderators are aware of the Screenshot of the Day status. No need to PM. Just because you see no action doesn't mean there is no activity going on.
Two words for you Aaron: Eight months. We're being both patient and understanding though. I think that as long this goes unanswered, the more it's going to get asked. And please read reply #49

Leo: It's voices of reason such as yours that makes things like you've mentioned possible! It's guys like you that makes this community so great! You love our community the way that I do and want to make things better for all involved! At this point after eight months, maybe we should start PMing our Administrators to let them know that we're requesting changes that have other wise been ignored. And draw their attention to the re-activity of this post
It would seem that the more one tries to push for returning it to a different shot each day the longer the current one stays up. I get the feeling that it's a matter of showing who's the boss. Let them eat cake. Basically it's B U L L S H I T. Nice response to the "community" Brad!
Hey Chasbo, you asked me the other day about why I'm not putting out my shots and what gives? This is what gives dude. This right here. I've been putting my faith in the c
Seems to have been 'forgotten'. Perhaps a 'Screenshot of the Week' would be a good compromise
Hey Leo: From 365 to 52 shots a year is not a bad idea if it makes Moderation less busy and allowing concerted and analytical judging, rather than a 2 1/2 - 3 star auto-pilot. But that still wouldn't reduce the burden of close daily moderation of screen shots in my humble opinion. Hell, why not make it "Shot Of The Month" reduce it to 12 and make it real easy.
If that is what WC needs, then I will offer my services. I like the idea of offering more folks a chance to shine..
That's a huge full-time responsibility HG, you get to choose and submit 365 shots out of thousands! Each shot has to be analyzed and I do believe duplicated. Then you get the one's with no description so you have to find the components. I guess if you were strict you can reject non-described submissions thereby placing the responsibility on the p

Guys: It was decided this year with all the contributions flooding the Moderators that Screen Shots will have to take a lesser priority. I'm mean it's obvious to us because we loved the daily variety and basically anyone that made a BOMB ass shot had a chance to be recognized. I'm pissed too for that matter and it's why I made this post months ago. But... We also have to realize this, all of the components that come through here has to be scrutinized for a gr

Runner-ups my ass! This is an apples and oranges situation here. The cold part is if you look at the choices, either one of them could have won! They are all second to none in my opinion. Congrats to you all for an amazing 2007 you are all winners to me! But the man of the hour is Drill N Boss and to me, his recognition was way overdue for all the work he does! Cp :CONGRAT:

No words can make a parent feel any salvation when it comes to their child being hurt or sick. All I can say is that you came to the right place to vent my brother.
The issue will arise, however if there is a requirement to enter the product activation/serial/s individually onto each machine for it to run as that would be the equivalent of a multiple install and thus beyond the terms of 'your primary, and a secondary ie-laptop'
That's what I was talking about.

I see what you're saying Stupendous, but my thinking is that to use these products it has to go through activation before you can use it and activation is based on registration. And with this in mind, I don't think the product will work from a flash drive and if you can, it could be interpreted as hacking or pirating. Bottom line, you can't run this stuff on just any machine, it has to be your machine, your laptop or your new machine with the old machine's copy deleted. <br
