I believe "morale" to be a synonym for "population cap". ("Morale +10%" in effect means "you'll get 10% more population without doing anything else").
Wrong. Morale +10% means that your planet morale is greater (I don't have the exact formula). It is the empire level population growth bonus that have an impact on population. And, as the post I was refering to at #4 said, the growth bonus is a bonus on the population growth, not on the population of a planet. But ther
Destablization your talking about right?
Well, I use propaganda to raise morale. I don't know is someone is trying to destablize me. [Message Edited]
Treat the metaverse as you would a year long (or longer)compedative sporting event.. where you have to pace yourself.. and have to attend all those sporting functions.... eg: if you played soccer or football or cricket.. you'd have a club meeting once a week where you'd play for the prize..
I think it is a great analogy. More, it stressed that regularity is the key factor for metaverse. In sport, if you are injured and spend some times without practicing, you need ti

Check this thread http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GS&id=155077#155887. There is an explanation about population growth. To summarize the post: to have a great increase of population, you need to keep 100% morale until you reach enough people on a planet, and this number depends on your growth bonus. BTW, you can raise morale on a planet by using propaganda (detail button on the planetry screen). Sure it cost money, but if you get more money by keeping a high taxes rate than you must
Is both these bonus the same or different? If different could you please explain.
Unless I am mistaken, there are 3 bonuses: - manufacturing bonus - social production bonus - military production bonus. The manufacturing bonus is planet-level that can give free production to social and military. The paid production due to manufacturing bonus is also found as a paid research bonus, ie if you have no other bonus on military/social/research at planetary o
it would appear that NOW the metaverse IS recalcing my scores on a daily basis

can someone please check my score to see if it is correct
Well, if a recalc is done on a daily basis, your score is correct. The problem is that you have 2 period of inactivity: from 03/12/04 to 05/03/05 and from 06/21/04 to 08/03/04. On the 08/03/04, all blocks were filled. But on the 08/27/04, you have 2 empty blocks which isn't very good for your score, since it is better to s
also if you are constantly going bancrupt then i suggest that when you set up a new game put most of you races skill point bonuses in economics sensors and social production
Well points put in social production are put an paid production. there isn't any free production associated with empire wide social production bonus. so you will spend more. Have a good morale is better to avoid deficit since it allow to raise taxes and still being at 100% morale
It's a shame that it isn't in retail by itself.
Strange, I was thinking that there was a deal with strategy first for the retail version of AP in North America. After few search, I found this page http://www.stardock.com/newsitem.asp?id=626 with the following:
The expansion pack, Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy, has an introductory price of $19.95 and can be purchased on CD or via electronic download.
The challenge is to get to the top. I get frustrated when I see new people with 33 games approaching my score when I have played 220 games.
Since I am behind you in metaverse ranking with only 40 games, I will react as if the sentence was aimed at me. Comparing 220 games to 40 games is a bit silly: the setting for each game differs. How many games is worth a 1.51 tiny map compared to a 1.21 gigantic map? What is the greater achievement: to play lots of games when you can

First a small reminder for everyone: how metaverse score is calculated: The player score in the metaverse is based upon each game scores with some tweaks to avoid rewarding too much players that submit lots of games or haven't played for a while. - When a game is submitted, a splitting is made upon the submitted games since the beginning to fit them in blocks. The delimitation of blocks are following: block 0: 0-30 days block 1: 31-60 days block 2: 61-90 days bl
Aliens often early in the game have higher population growth
Well, they are surely running at 100% morale which double their pop growth. And wisely upload colonists in their colony ships to keep a nice overall growth. Using cheat codes can help to monitor their planets
On higher levels they get bonus
Yes. I have submitted a game recently. Before submitting the game, I check the metaverse: I was ranked 35 with 38 games. After the submission, I am ranked 32 with 41 games. But I have submit just one game. And my profile show 39 games. Can somebody explain how one game leads to 3 games for the metaverse?
what conditions do you actually get 60K points?
On 1.21, only when a military victory on gigantic / maso. I get 52 - 55K on 1.21 gigantic maso with alliance victory With AP (1.51), 60K can be reached with alliance victory on different settings.
I have read that people feel that if your alignment is oposite of the AI majority you can get a higher score. I doubt that.
I am certain (since I can't reach the 60K cap) that having all AI set to evil when playing neutral give more points that using default alignement with playing neutral.
What if I make a political party what makes my abilities VERY high? Is that fair?
Well, you must be aware that the AI will choose their political party in the same way that you. So if you make a too good party, all AIs will take it. Take a look at the pol party research.inc in the mod library. It should be instructive.
I tried to put the registration number the game asked me during the installation, but it failed...
What number have you entered? there are two: one that is a demo with the correct format, and the other is the number you must used with the format provided on the demo number. And you must enter the same serial number when installing Galciv and using Stardock Central. BTW, 1.21 is an english only version. You will end up with some texts in french and some in eng
Are you sure?
On gigantic maso yes. The best way to see the DIRECT influence on score is to retire before finishing a TG/Wonder, note the score, reload the endsavegame, hit next turn, build the TG/wonder, retire and note the score. If found that when retiring, I get 125 Mpts per TG, and when I win in January 2190, I get 250 Mpts per TG. And you can alos see that on the score of the others AI: the one who have greater score than others AI are the one who have
