what i'm asking is if there is a file on my computer where my serial key would be stored, perhaps a .ini file or something? any help would be appreciated. Well, if you have entered it during the installation, it should be in the registries key. Have you tried to look in : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock? <TABLE cellpadding=8 wi

I'd just perfer to avoid re-installing if I could, not particuarly liking the unstable natue of the 1.1 beta and was hoping to go back to 1.0 without reinstalling. Well, if you can install SDC on your gaming computer with an internet access, you may be able to update the game to the latest non-beta version

He's asking about how to import ship designs that he downloaded from the site here. I have no idea how to do that, so can't help him ... but perhaps someone else can provide the information? I guess he should try to save them where his own specific ships are. It is in the My Documents hierarchy

A good feature.. But I would add one more.. How making all other non-homeworld planets 0 and then having to scan them before it reveals what planet rating they really are. or atleast an option for this type of gameplay Well, if I remember correctly, during the beta, all planets did have a unique texture, ev

I haven't got a burner on the drive....can't burn the msg. Paid good money for a game I can no longer run. Do I pour more money into this, buying a CD Burner? Maybe a USB key. It should be cheaper. Or floppy disk if that is an available option BTW, this thread https://forums.

This is true but now that population growth rates are lower (the dev's post suggested around 3%) maintaining 100% morale when a planet is first colonized seems essential. This is because if a population starts at 0.5 billion then after 20 turns with 3% growth it will be 0.9 billion, with 6% growth it'll be 1.6 billion. That's a b

Having it effect both your population AND your economy is just way too much for one stat to do IMO. Well, it was already that setting in GC1. You are just forgetting the catch: maintaining 100% morale, which means getting less income that what you would have with higher tax rates <img src="http://images.sta

For example, consider a world with 4 billion inhabitants and 5% population growth, after n turns it's population will be: 4 * (1.05^n) However, instead consider two worlds each with 2 billion inhabitants. Assuming both worlds have 5% population growth, EACH world's population at n turns is defined by:<

, but they changed and no where on the forums did anyone request that this be done. Are you sure? I remember some posts with people requesting a copy feature. Or that they were annoyed to find all functionnal parts to remove them, and that wasn't correctly working.

If you ever have to reinstall the game for whatever reason, can you update the game with the latest patch, or do you have to install ALL of the patches. Example: if I reinstalled Galciv2, would I have to install 1.0X and then 1.1 Beta or just 1.1 Beta? I always wondered that about patches. I guess the

I here that this can be blamed on stardocks minor modification of drivers in order to more fit its own games, (or that somehow stardock should infact take responsiblity) anywho, I have heard that unistalling the stardock central system, then reinstalling the game may fix this issue, (I think, I forgot but it is a post somewhere i

For those that can do it: try using SDC. It may handle itself the activation problem. ANd if that doesn't work, you should be able to update the game to version 1.0X (ie getting the latest non beta update).
